This site came through for us traveling late. The grassy patch is nice and the site seems to be maintained. There was quite a bit of road noise late into the night with someone riding a loud off road vehicle with bright lights, and the sites are bordered by private properties on almost all sides. There was a tarantula on our tent and a black widow under the counter area by the grill. Jose was very responsive and helpful, and I’d stay here again if I needed somewhere to tent, just be aware it’s being developed still, and it’s wild. Spiders, and coyotes abound. If you’re not driving an off road vehicle, be careful. The driving paths are not marked and we hit a dip that scraped the underskirt, lucky we didn’t crack the radiator. Looking forward to seeing this site when it’s finished!

Beautiful and simple! It was a perfect retreat after a long road trip. The area was manicured nicely with simplistic yet artful landscaping that set a peaceful and romantic mood. The stars were amazing as the coyotes howled from a distance. As for the typical human comforts, the bathroom was clean and close by with ample lighting, the grill was easy to use with all needed accessories, and the fire pit with wood was an added bonus. The solar candlestick lighting helped set the feeling of a relaxing getaway in nature even if it was just a stop by. 5 stars :) in our opinion!

The campsite was a great set up and had a beautiful view of the mountains. You were set back from Las Cruces yet still had access to gas stations and grocery/convenience stores within a 20 minute drive. The shower/bathroom was very nice and was well kept. We stayed here to go hiking at White Sands National Park and it was a short 45 minute drive. Jose was super accommodating and very kind. Would definitely recommend staying here!

I really liked how the host had so many amenities available to make our stay nice. The only issue was the incredible noise created by barking dogs, all night long, from nearby neighbors' yards.

This spot was awesome we had a little grass area to walk the dogs when we got there. There was also a grill and fire pit with charcoal, firewood, lighters, and lighter fluid available to use. The space was pretty large and the had public facilities about 50 ft from the sight for convenience. They also had a hose there so you could properly extinguish your fire. All and all I would rate this spot a 4/5. Reason being, is at about 2 in the morning it sounded like a thousand roosters were crowing at the same time. It woke my wife and I up from which we were unable to back to sleep. Idk if this happens every night because we only stayed for one, but if we had earplugs we would have been fine. Regardless, this was an awesome campsite in a beautiful area. Thank you Mr. Ortiz.

I loved Legends. Our car got broken into while we were in town, but the campsite felt safe and soothed my jangled nerves. Beautiful view of the full moon from camp, and gorgeous campsite over all. There were lots of rabbits and I got a kick out of watching them chase each other around in the scrub.

That Legends camp has beautiful desert scenery. Host Jose has provided some really nice amenities that really give it that rustic feel. Had a great time. Would definitely go back.

It was so nice to camp out here. It felt private and peaceful. The firewood provided was such a nice touch for a good fire. The bathroom was clean and we are thankful that this site had hot water. Thank you so much for having us. We enjoyed our time here.

This campsite was well thought out with little touches to help with the ease and comfortability of camping. My boyfriend and I are on a cross country trip, and were sad to have only spent 1 night here. Definitely would come back if we are in the area!! Also Jose was quick to respond to any questions we had a long the way. Thanks again!!

It was a quite place. Very clean. Having a clean and working restroom and shower a plus. Location was in secluded area but very nice. Provided firewood came in handy. Overall it was a wonderful experience. Would definitely visit again.

Jose has a great spot for a hipcamp! Great hot water shower / bath available. Scenic views of the surrounding mountains and some great mountainbike & hiking trails only 1/4 mile away. Quiet area. Thanks Jose!

This place was beautiful and perfectly set up with everything we needed and things we thought we never would.. firewood, grill, water, bathroom/shower ( was cold but if during the day won’t be bad )… definitely wish we could’ve spent more time there and I haven’t even mention the insane almost 360 view, watched sunrise and set and had the biggest mountain in the background,, would love to come back!!

This was a great outdoor space. Jose has a few spots set up all with great fire pits, lots of wood, and stuff to start a fire! The areas are neat and clean and there are even camp chairs around if you forgot yours. What is seriously awesome is the bathroom!! A single unit complete with a shower! Seriously great spot

Great camp spot. We stayed a night to visit White Sands. It’s about 50 mins away and Jose even let us borrow his sleds for our kids. There’s a water hookup, grass turf, and shower/bathroom. Nice open safe space. Highly recommend.

The camp was easy to find at night and get set up. Everything was clean and thoughtfully laid out. The astroturf was nice to be able to lay outside for a bit at night and look at the stars!

Great place to camp if you’re heading to white sands. Jose was very responsive to anything that I needed. The set up was nice & thoughtful. I really appreciated the endless supply of firewood that he provided. Made the 29/30 degree nights a breeze! Would def recommend & camp here again!

What a great spot! I love how each site has some individuality to it! We enjoyed it all - the fire pit, grill, astroturf. The stargazing and mountain backdrop makes it a slice of heaven. Great location, quiet but not far from town.

My family and I enjoyed staying at Legends. Beautiful backdrop to the campsite and Jose was great - quick I’m communication and was gracious with our arrival and departure time. We’d stay here again.

Awesome! This is a really safe bet for a camp spot, lots of running water. That's good to drink. The guy will leave tons of firewood for you - My spot had sleds for white sands to borrow and lighter fluid, kitchen utensils, a charcoal grill and plenty of spots to sit and eat.
There's actually a very nice clean shower and bathroom with a private door and running water.
If you're intimidated by overlanding or camping without water and some amenities , this is a great middle ground.

When we pulled up to the camping spot I was blown away by all the amenities! Legends camp provided AstroTurf to place the tent on, providing us with extra comfort and came with beautiful wooden tables/benches through the campsite that are picture-perfect and very convenient. They provide wood for the campfire, running water and a toilet with a sink. I already recommended the spot to my friends and am very happy to leave this positive review!!!
