It is a Loft in the barn with a king-size bed, a tiny kitchen and a balcony, and the bathroom is below in the tack room.  The place is a 112 acre Icelandic Horse Ranch on the San Juan River and is located 30 miles south of Pagosa Springs, bordering NM. The river is running trough the property with easy access for fishing and for taking in or out with a paddle or rafting boat. This place is the home for 14 Icelandic horses, chickens and a dog ... and LOTS of wildlife! On this property you can find every specie that is living in this part of the country.
There are plenty of things you can do at the ranch, including fishing! Check out my website for more info: Hestar-Ranch.com
The Navaho Lake State Park is close by and the property has a private access to the Carson National Forest for horseback riding and hiking. Make sure you bring the camera, good walking shoes and sun protection for a pleasant stay. The weather can change fast but most days are sunny and dry. I will be here when you arrive and will be available for any question you may have.
One thing has to be said, if the weather is bad and there is a lot of rain, it will be muddy here and you may need a 4-wheel drive, so please consider that into your plans, especially if you book early and are not able to check on the weather ahead.

Monika's ranch was just what we needed. Clean, attractuve accommodations in a dude ranch atmosphere. We loved the privacy, being surrounded by her beautiful horses and the gorgeous sky filled with stars at night. Monika was a caring hostess and put a lot of work into making sure we got what we wanted-a memorable stay. We already plan another stay next year!
