Description

Lower Black Canyon Campground is a gorgeous spot located in an area so remote that you may just run into the Keebler elves. At the rear of the campground you can pick up Trail 94 for a great 9-mile out and back day hike that heads into the Gila Wilderness. Your closest spot for gas and supplies is the Mimbres General Store. Just be sure to supply your own water and pack-out because there is no garbage collection way out in these parts.

We recommend high-clearance 4x4 vehicles as FR 150 is narrow and rough.

Super kick butt place. Lots and lots of Elk, Turkey, Great Fishing. No no cops come by. Good water. Local rancher has great bud for tip trade. We stayed two months. No issue.

Go east up canyon past farm house. All public. Lots a camp areas with water. Three hot springs about three miles in. Hot springs are our thing. Come join the Party
