My stay at Casas de las Estrellas was magnificent. Fran is as hospitable as they come. She is quick to make you feel like a friend and is so welcoming that it makes you want to stay forever. Her space is filled with never-ending stories and is in itself an endless work of art. She walked me around some of her neighbors properties, as many of them are officially deemed experimental art pieces rather than just homes. The community here inspired me to really think outside of the box. With a tent, there is seemingly endless land to settle down on. Be sure to bring a good sleeping pad - the hard desert lets itself be know. The dome is open air and allows you to spend time staring at the Milky Way, which really shows off out here. Bring a sleeping bag for staying in the dome - there is a mattress, but you'll need bedding. The bus is a great retreat and the platform built on top of it is amazing for hanging out. If I am ever back in this area I will without a doubt be reaching out and coming back to visit this spot. Couldn't recommend more.

There is vast desert in the middle of a great experimental building community to find a spot for your tentTents Tents AnywhereTents Tents AnywhereThe different types of buildings surrounding the area are definitely worth checking out
