Unfriendly, not 'hipcamp-like'
It took a long time before we got contact with the host. He didn't show up and first gave us a wrong number to enter the property. Finally there we had to park between several trucks which we hadn't expected and which was not nice at all.
Don't go there.
An odd place
This was an odd place, I'd say it's worth $15-20 but not $50. My daughter and I had fun though. It's ostensibly a "private" "preserve" but there were TWO different random people walking their dogs through the area, both of whom seemed shocked that there were campers there. That was pretty uncomfortable. And on the way in, a guy loading his truck in some kind of parking lot was also extremely confused that campers were trying to come in through what he thought was a restricted area for his trucks. He didn't seem about to call the cops, and it ended up fine, but still, really weird and not what I expected. Also, across the creek are a bunch of suburban back yards with people in clear view, and the noise of the highway is surprisingly loud.
Great camp site. Has that real secluded feeling, not camp sites side by side like an assembly line. Nice river right beside the site. Not completely private for on the other side are houses. Highway noise and neighbors may make noise. Great site for loading a kayak into the river. No picnic table so bring table and chairs. Site is easy to access. Though the access to the site has a main gate that can be locked. There is access through the forest about 80ft from site which connects to a local road, be aware of that. The morning we left some random man came from that direction and cute across the campsite, very odd and unexpected.
Convenient, beautiful campsite
The location was very convenient and lovely. Not as private or secluded as I hoped, but definitely still worth checking out. And Katie was a wonderful host — she wasn't there but was very communicative and helpful. :)
