If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
There was only one site and it was minimal and taken. We made our own spot in the grass that was fine but for the cost it was a pretty poor experience. Could be a place for some good sites but they seemed to have jumped the gun.
Had a wonderful time at Barbie’s place and with the animals. Had a porta-potty, fire pit, solar shower and a table. It was perfect. Swam in the Merrimack and checked out Canterbury. The kids loved the animals and are already begging to go back. Barbie got us firewood and everything we needed. She was a wonderful host.
Secluded and sweet!
Barbie is a wonderful host! We loved our stay so much. The site was leveled and had a porta potty. There isn’t running water close by by just up the driveway you have access. Barbie left jugs of water, and chairs and games and firewood. The best host! The site had a picnic table and a fire pit and a garbage can and recycling bin. It made the entire trip a breeze. The fireflies at night are so wonderful and it’s a quick trip to town for all necessities and swimming etc.
Barbie is a kind and welcoming host, stopping by soon after my arrival to see if I needed water, firewood, or other assistance. Her farm has several types of animals and is located within a short drive of multiple points of interest for exploring. There is a swamp on the property a quick walk from the camping area that I visited a couple of times where I spotted nesting herons and other small wildlife. While I was only able to stay for one night, I would definitely stay again and recommend the listing.
At the time of writing this (July 2020) the landowner is new to Hipcamp, so if you’re staying there soon note that some of the sites listed in the directions are still being developed or labeled. I saw a lot of nice spots where you could set up a tent, so I wouldn’t consider it to be an issue.
Not a good experience
Not at all what was described by the listing - there were no “sites” and my companion and I were left asking other would-be campers whether they were also there for the same listing. No water or other amenities, no actual campsites, and no concern for the safety of guests given Covid protocol.
Listing said it had multiple sites. It had 1. The area was hilly and fellow campers couldn’t set up. A couple scouted area for 1/2 hour and decoded there was nothing and left
Great stopover apot
Maybe not the most scenic of sites but it was everything I love about Hipcamp. Quiet and the site was in great shape and with a generous load of firewood. From past reviews it seemed like sites might be poorly marked but there were clear site markings in place, fresh fire rings and even picnic tables. Super convenient location and well tended.
The camp site was great we stayed in lot 7 and it was tucked away in the woods which was perfect. A couple of the other lots seem to be a little more out in the open like 1 and 3. We had a picnic table, bonfire and wood waiting for us amateur campers. We had a very nice stay and getting to visit the alpacas was an added bonus.
Great place to stay
This was a great camping spot, in the woods and very quiet and peaceful. Barbie was super friendly and nice. She even pointed us to the wetlands on the property where we were able to see the herons. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it.
