The site was very remote and pleasant! Nice fire pit made for easy fire starting and cooking. Space for one small tent, not much else other than hammocks.
The site is well protected, but there is also very little breeze, so it can get hot and buggy. The hike up was steep but short!
Steve was very nice and helpful and kindly provided additional water when we didn’t want to hike back down to the car!
Very private and peaceful site. Steven was a welcoming host and provided us with water and directions/suggestions, and an ace bandage and ice when someone sprained their ankle. The hike in and site are as described. Would recommend.
Definitely worth the walk. Up.
As soon as you park on the grass tucked between two dirt roads, you see a traffic cone that marks the trailhead. And that's when it gets pretty cool. On clearly marked trails (had no problem finding the site after dark), you walk up. The first 1/2 of the trail definitely gets your heart working under the load of a backpack. Then you come to where the white trail meets the yellow... and you think you're in someone's backyard. Fear not! turn left for an easier climb - but still up - to the rocky overlook. And (mostly) silence. The reward for your efforts is a well-kept campsite that is very private. And with cell service, no less! We relied heavily on leaves and our ground pads to soften the rocky ground but ended up sleeping comfortably.
Steve was a very accommodating host who took care of what we needed. Delicious farm-fresh eggs, tiki torches (bc why not?), and even left us some jugs of water.
The only drawback would be the houses below you, lakeside. If they decide to sing karaoke until 11 PM, you get an evening serenade, wanted or not.
Lost Boys Forest was a great site. Very private, lots of spots for hammocks, I would be hesitant to be in a tent. Close by to lots of hiking and swimming options. We had a great time and would happily return.
The site was incredible. As advertised, good for hammocks. Great fire pit and nice location. Trail in was well marked and hike was very manageable.
Enjoyed this nice secluded camp site!
Beautiful grounds and a very friendly, helpful host. Thank you!
Great hike (~3/4 mile) up to the camp. Well maintained fire pit in secluded location. Perfect spot. Thank you!
