Great for last-minute car camping!
My friend and I were looking for a last-minute spot to camp near the Whites, and were really pleased with this camping spot! The host provided great directions, and we were able to arrive, set up camp quickly, and cook some dinner and without any issues. There's a picnic table, great for eating dinner, but as far as amenities go that's about it. Given that, I think the place could be priced a bit cheaper for better value.
The best i camped out to date
It was beautiful and peaceful.... wish I could have stayed longer.... Hillary and her family were gracious and helpful.... I do recommend having 4wheel drive
It was really quiet and nice and the fireflies at night were really cool. The site worked great for what we needed for a social distance place to stay before a hike the next day but it’s a super basic spot
Great camping! Lots of options/sites in the field to set up your tent, and the fire pits were a great touch. The host's house is right there and one night there was a party with some loud music going on in the barn, but it wasn't too distracting. Other people were camping in the field but things are separated enough that it wasn't an issue. Much better than the hustle and bustle at a big campground. No bathrooms or running water though so keep that in mind, but overall a great experience and a perfect way to car camp.
Good camping if barn is not rented
Campsite review: The campsite options were nice - spread apart and some were tucked away in the woods while others were in the open. Pretty sure they all had a fire pit. The sites were pretty flat for pitching tents and easily could have fit 5 tents. The ground had been cleared, but there were still some sharp brambles that were sticking up from the ground. It was comfy enough with a sleeping pad though. Was perfectly satisfied with the campsite, met expectations.
Barn party: The barn was rented for a pool party that raged nonstop (loud music, yelling, singing, a fire dancer, a drum circle... you name it) literally until 5 in the morning, and then resumed again at 7am. Quiet hours were not adhered to, to say the least. The barn was closer than we had pictures based on the description (maybe 50 yards?) so it was incredibly loud. Couldn't sleep a wink. I would definitely suggest getting in touch with the host to see if the barn is rented prior to camping here. I would consider it again if there was no one in the barn, definitely would never risk it again if the barn were rented.
Host communication: Contacted right away with directions, etc. and was responsive and understanding when I requested a refund given the barn situation.
