We spent two nights at this site and had a wonderful time. The port a potty was spotless and the fire pit has a grate for grilling. We made use of the canoe and spent some time sitting on the dock overlooking the river at dusk. The site is close to the road but there’s minimal traffic and it still felt private. Also, Barbara and her family were so easy to communicate with and you can’t beat waking to the view of the river!

Relaxing on the dock. Wonderful view of the river from our tent.

A perfect spot for a weekend camping, near a beautiful river and a hiking trail across. There is a canoe available and a nice little deck to the river.
The place was near Barbara`s house, but very private at the same time. She was very nice to us, help us with all our questions and lends us electricity for phone charging, newspaper, and wood for making fire. The camping spot is also near a street but with almost no traffic, we count 3 cars in our time there. Is very easy to get there, you can park your car near your tent. There is a little market 2 miles away.
We love it!

Highly recommend. We had a great time sitting by the river fishing and swimming. Camp site was a good size with a portapotty onsite that was spotless. Will definitely return!

We had a great time at Barbara's two campsites. We were a group of 14 split between the two sites. The two sites are a quick walk from each other, with the toilet (clean) located at the site closest to the street. Both sites are within eyesight of Barbara's home, but we still felt that they were private enough. The view from the site behind the house was amazing, as it looked right out onto the river. We took advantage of the canoe, the kayaks and some pool noodles and had a great afternoon in the surprisingly warm river.
Barbara was a great host, very responsive to any questions we had (canoe lock code, local trails). And her dog was adorable. I would recommend Barbara's sites to groups looking for an easy and fun getaway.

We had the best time at Barbara's campground. When we got there the site was so well raked and clean and they left us firewood and trash bags at our site. The site was also overlooking the most beautiful river but high enough above it that you still felt secluded from the few kayakers we saw paddle by. We also got to use Barbara's canoe which was so much fun and had a blast swimming in the river all day. The water was refreshing but still warm so it was perfect to swim in! We used Barbara's grill for dinner and then roasted marshmallows over the fire as the sun set over the river. Could not have been a more beautiful location to pitch our tent! We will definitely return soon!!!

Barbara and her family were amazing. They offered us everything we needed. The site was beautiful and well kept. The bathroom was also spotless. They gave us great tips of places and things to check out while boating on the river. I would highly recommend camping at their place.

This campsite was exactly what my family and I had been looking for and Barbara and her family were wonderful hosts! We needed just a night away, and didn't have a tent, and reached out at the last minute. Barbara was so kind to let us come last minute for only a night. They pitched a tent for us, even provided air mattresses. The site was overlooking the water- beautiful! Everything was as expected and more, and I can't thank Barbara and her family enough for sharing their peace with us. Thank you!!

Barbara's place beats any campground around! Me and my family actually rented both sites for a long weekend. You can't see the other site from each one but you can see Barbara's house from both. With that said they were still very private and we didn't feel like we were in someone's backyard. The site overlooking the river is absolutely beautiful and perfect spot to have a fire with the sun going down at night. The other site is right by the road and also has the portable toilet. Even though it was by the road it's not a really busy road so it was still plenty of privacy. Between the sites is the dock and we spent plenty of time using Barbara's canoe and kayaks. Right across the river (2 minute paddle) is a public beach access point with a fun rope swing and picnic tables. I highly recommend a stay at Barbara's place if you are considering camping in that area.
