Granite Gorge is a beautiful site with a natural meeting ground at the base of the mountain adjacent to the river.  It opened as a ski area in 1959 and has brought great joy to many ever since.  We're proud to keep the property and to offer it as a summer hipcamp site.

Great Location, Awesome Getaway
My wife and I stayed in the Slopeside tent for 2 nights. The spot is a small ski hill that is converted to camp sites for the off season. Very easy getting in the location, the directions were spot on and communication prior to arrival was excellent. There is parking dedicated to this tent in the grass. The tent is set up on a wooden platform about 30 yards or so up one of the ski runs. It’s a bit of an incline, so be aware if you have any mobility issues. Also, keep this in mind when deciding what to bring. We had a foldable wagon and a cooler with wheels. That helped out immensely. Lots to explore right there. You can get a great hiking workout exploring the ski runs and property. Even have a nice creek that runs along the front of the property to walk along in. Our tent was clean and ready for us. There is an inflatable bed on a stand. No sheets or blankets, so pack your own. There is a picnic table, 2 chairs, a charcoal grill (bring your own charcoal), and a small metal fire pit (bring your own wood). The ski lodge is open To use the restrooms and showers. One shower stall indoors and one outdoors. These aren’t 5 star hotel accommodations, but it’s camping and they are a great thing to have access to after a day of hiking, swimming or to wash the campfire smell off. We went to nearby Otter Brook State Park to take a dip in the lake. We also drove to nearby hiking trails, so many to choose from for all skill levels. There were other groups camping in tents throughout, but this location is in an area where you have privacy if you want it. We had an excellent time and were very happy with the location, tent and amenities. The site is not far out of Kenne, so you have everything you could need a short drive away. Can’t wait to come back again!

Wonderful easy camping escape
It was fun, the yurt was most comfortable and spacious . What a treat to have a nearby bathroom and shower. . Nice private hikes up the ski slope. It is close to downtown Keene for a good outdoor restaurant experience. We found Goose pond as a great hike. Downside is the location close to a busy road .. A light sleeper needs to tune out the traffic noise of the highway behind the trees and river.

Slopeside Glamping, all Amenities.
This place was really lovely and unique. It’s in a ski resort so not in the woods, but the tent is near the bottom of a ski slope. It was easy to find and the directions were clear. The tent is very spacious; I could stand up in it and had plenty of room to spread out. I didn’t use the fire pit or grill but they looked to be in good shape. It was great to arrive at a tent already set up and secure! Bedding was not provided as pictured but Shari (the co-host) was very helpful and brought me sheets, a pillow, and a sleeping bag. Since the camp is on the ski slope, it was a steep climb but a very short distance. I’m not a big camper so this was a perfect option for me in between real camping and glamping.

Very unique site / lots of charm
My girlfriend and I spent 3 days and 4 nights and loved it. It is a unique site on a ski mountain. Very private. Great tent and bed and good access to bathrooms and shower. Lots of stars and fireflies.

Rustic Glamping Mountainside Yurt
What an experience! As a skier, I was pumped to stay at the bottom of a lift & be able to explore the empty resort. The yurt itself was comfortable & unique, the screens do need some patching to keep bugs out, but other than that I would gladly return. I enjoyed the seclusion & letting my dog run free up ski slopes! It was also neat to have access to the lodge for a bathroom. We sunbathed on the lodge deck & cooked outside on our Coleman stove.
