Nestled in Nevada's Crescent Valley lies an ecological gem called Azura. 40 acres of land left mostly undisturbed but open for exploration. Come take the views of the jasper colored foothills and mountains; stay in The Truett (Old English for dry lakebed...) and have for yourself a view of the cosmos in her full glory absent the blemish of light pollution, as we have among the lowest in North America. Come be undisturbed in the soothing light of the milky way and let every star lull you to sleep. We love pets of all kinds and want to encourage you to let them run free as nature intended! We want to make sure your animal companions have as much fun in nature as you! Above all else Azura is a sanctuary; humanity and our civilizations first drew breath in the desert, come tap into that legacy! I, Rowan, will take you on a journey through the cosmos if you like, I'm very knowledgeable of the heavens and study the heavenly bodies daily; or I can leave you to the peace of the desert; either way, I stand ready to help you in whatever you might need. I also endeavor to make the desert bloom, this is my personal mission and your stay contributes to the establishing and maintaining of an oasis ecosystem unlike anything seen in North America. So come stay under the stars a night or two, swim in the local river, or use us as a spring board to the many hotsprings in northern Nevada. We have partnered with our local grocer (Cortez General Store) to offer delivery service to the front gate until 9pm, order in advanced and pay online and have your good ready before your arrival! Whatever you do, either passing by on your way east or west, viewing the stars or exploring the desert and xeric landscapes, come enjoy it at The Oasis of Azura! Wow. What a spot. You are in the middle of a dry lake bed between two mountain ranges. The solitude is incredible it’s a magic place. Rohan is an amazing host and made sure we found our way back into the campsite which is about 4 miles on a dirt road. Does not require four-wheel-drive but having some clearance would be good although a Prius was able to get back in there!

When you arrive you are treated to the most incredible big sky you can imagine in Nevada my son was able to ride his mountain bike freely over 40 acres and our dog could chase him around.

And Rowan is an amazing host very personable and down to earth easy-going just wants to make sure you are happy. So if seclusion for a chance to really clear your mind is what you are seeking this is definitely the place.

Land was beautiful, super close to I-80. Rowan was great, he was super communicative and waited for us late at night to lead us to the perfect camp site. Highly recommend.

Great place! Quiet at night, amazing stars, amazing low humidity, cool night air. Only tip I would share is prepare for dirt the consistency of flour. It will get everywhere on your clothes and car, but washes off easily. Overall excellent experience!

Upon entering the gate from main road, we chose to camp well before the actual camp/site. Accessing this site may not be for everyone...but wide open spaces and sky, we felt like we were in a western. Short and sweet stay, still better than being crammed in a full campground in our opinion! Never used actual site or amenities, but still pretty cool.

If you are looking for solitude, isolation, and a starlit evening - you must find your way to the the Azuran Oasis! It was one of the best night skies I have ever seen! The site is exactly as described - you are on a dry lake bed, so be prepared for a dusty surrounding and no running water. But if you can handle that as a tradeoff for a lack of humans and the opportunity to completely reset, then you will love this place! Rowan was super communicative and ensured we were good once we set up camp and in the morning, but other than that let us embrace the destination. It was the best way for us to end a 10-day camping trip!

Fantastic stay. Rowan couldn’t have been nicer. Very responsive on text. Setup a fire pit for us. Great conversation. If you want to be alone with nature and your loved ones couldn’t recommend a better spot.
