Get in tune with nature in the safety of 85 acres guarded by mountains and sage. Look up to see the starry sky and enjoy the symphony of untouched habitats.
Sage Bush is pure, unadulterated, land surrounded by mountains, and tucked away near Battle Mountain. Perfect place for a quiet family outing, or a tranquil meditation ground.
In the Winter months, 4wd is best for accessing Sage Bush. There is also a coal plant about 2 miles as well. It's not at all an inconvenience (no sounds, smell, etc.) but you can see it in the distance.

The vibe at Sage Bush
If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
We had booked a night at Sage Bush for a place to camp on a road trip out to the Salt Flats in Utah from San Francisco.
Unfortunately, a mudslide hit on Donner Pass on our way out delaying us many, many hours so we didn't get an opportunity to stay as we were still hours away when night fell.
On the way back to San Francisco however we took a moment to jump off the freeway and check out the area. It's insanely beautiful! The property has no structures, and no amenities, it's just raw land. When you're looking east from the property there's absolutely nothing. Just pristine desert and mountains.
Looking back west there is a power plant visible (You can see it in the background in the photo of our car, and you drive around it to get to the property). Definitely not a problem however, if anything it was reassuring knowing help was available close by if anything was to happen!
I'm looking forward to staying here on my next trip that takes me out on the 80.
Due to weather, we weren't able to make it to the campsite before sunset. We decided to check it out on our way back home after visiting the Salt Flats in Utah–I'm so happy we did! The property is an open valley, bordered by gorgeous snowcapped mountains. It would be a great place to camp with a group of friends, as there is definitely no shortage of space! The closest thing around is a power plant, which made me more comfortable knowing there are people close by in case of an emergency. Can't wait to camp here next time we're passing through NV!
Fantastic place to see the stars and find sanctuary in the Nevada desert! The directions were spot on, everyone before us had cleaned up after themselves (as did we). Highly recommend...we say antelope during our stay!
Very secluded spot in the beautiful high desert. Easy passage in the summer without 4WD but you need to be willing to drive on dirt roads for a few miles. Recommend arriving in the day to make it easier to follow the directions .... we didn’t and took a little backtracking. The host was great about responding quickly to all of our questions immediately after booking and even checked in to make sure all was great following!
