GERING, Nebraska: 1/4 mile from Five Rocks Amphitheater where Monument Marathoners cross the finish line. Pitch your Tent, park your Popup or RV just up the road from the marathon festivities.

The race route runs right past our property. One can even walk the 1/4 mile along a scenic country road to the finish line.

Set at the foot of the majestic natural bluffs that greeted pioneer settlers traveling west on the Oregon/California and Mormon Trails, you will be delighted to wake to birdsong, prairie vistas and an incredible view.

Stay a few extra days and explore the prairie and hills just five minutes away on foot. Visit our many local attractions, such as Legacy of the Plains Museum, Scotts Bluff National Monument, Riverside Discovery Center Zoo, and the Wildcat Hills Nature Center.

The camping site is located in field grass under old shade trees on a homestead going back four generations of the Gering family, whose ancestor Martin Gering was honored by city forefathers when they named the fledgling town after him in 1887.
