Within the 20 acres that our tiny house solar cabin sits on there's plenty of space to pitch your tent or camper in one of many spots, out in the open rally area near the cottonwood trees or in the woods along our mulched prayer trail. Once you've settled in, feel free to explore the property and if you'd like we can give you a tour of our permaculture food forest and share our knowledge and experience about food and nature. There are many spots where the sunset is breathtaking and there's a beautiful scenery that stretches for miles that you can walk up our highest hill to if you love to watch the sunrise. We are 3 miles from Powder Creek Lake Wildlife Managment Area where there's free fishing and even ice fishing in the winter. The wildlife management area covers 467 acres, of which 107 acres is the lake.. The lake has been stocked with Bluegill, Channel Catfish, Largemouth Bass, Walleye and Pike. There is a 21” limit on Largemouth Bass. Motorboats limited to 5 mph (no wake). For the hunter there is excellent habitat with pheasant quail, deer, waterfowl and dove.
We are 10 miles from Ponca State Park. The state park's approximately 2,400 acres are situated among high bluffs and steep, forested hills adjacent to the Missouri National Recreational River. The park's Three State Overlook offers a scenic blufftop view of Nebraska, Iowa, and South Dakota. An interactive museum at park headquarters includes exhibits about the Missouri River and its history. The park offers a fishing pond, swimming pool, campgrounds, cabins, seasonal horseback riding, miles of hiking trails, and many nature watching spots. You can check their website for activities and events.
