Carolyn and Dean were great hosts. I highly recommend their spot if you're looking for a safe passing through place to throw your tent up.

Carolyn and her family were lovely hosts, in a beautiful location. With a storm on the forecast, she offered shelter inside if I needed it. The yard for camping is spacious, grassy and shaded by trees. Highly recommend if you're in Nebraska to camp!

Carolyn and Doug are so hospitable and thoughtful. Their property is amazing, with a lot of shade trees and some great views of the plains. We may stop back next time we are passing through.

Carolyn is a warm and welcoming host. She was very friendly and oriented me to the property upon my arrival. She also gave me privacy. I arrived at dusk and got my camp set up and enjoyed the evening breeze. My dog and I had a nice long walk down the road under the stars. We hit the road again first thing- very convenient to I 80 and a lovely country environment.

We had fun leaving the interstate and driving county roads through a pretty agricultural area to Carolyn's home. It was very windy, so she suggested setting up our tent near our vehicle and her trailer, which helped shield the tent from the wind. In better weather, her ample yard would have been a perfect spot to pitch a tent. Our kids enjoyed playing soccer in the yard, and we all enjoyed a visit from her friendly cat in the morning. Be sure to follow her directions as the Google coordinates were not exact.

Carolyn was very nice and helpful. We got caught in a bit of a storm and Carolyn went out of her way to make sure we had up-to-date information and felt safe. We loved petting her sweet dogs (which were kept away from the campsite on leashes if that matters to you). We highly recommend staying here. You will feel very welcomed.

The Rural Respite Campsite is a well-manicured half-acre lawn alongside an old house undergoing an extensive renovation in the middle of corn and soy fields. We were the only guests and our hostess, Carolyn, and her husband and daughter were wonderful. The house is on a farm road about 20 minutes from I-80. The directions were excellent and we drove directly there. Potable water is available from a hose that reaches the entire lawn. The quiet there was incredible. The bathroom is inside the house and when we needed to use it, we texted the hostess. We spent time talking with the Johnson Family on their porch shortly after our arrival and again the following morning. All members of the family were highly respectful about social distancing and wearing masks even though we were in Nebraska corn fields with few people around. We found the Rural Respite Campsite to meet our camping needs extremely well while we in transit to points west. Nice safe campsite. Nice friendly family.

The hosts were welcoming and the site was extremely well maintained.

It was an easy drive from I-80, and sunrise over the fields was spectacular. We would definitely recommend.
