Tent Site on Historic Farm
This property is spacious, quiet, and perfect for campers passing through the area or needing to be under the open sky! Gina's property is an inspiring space to get away and unwind. Adequate space for privacy, serenity, and the host was welcoming and joyful.

Tent Site on Historic Farm
What a time I had at Eclipse Farm (otherwise known, as "Barn Again")! Gina and Joe were amazing hosts: warm, generous, and happy to offer tips and background on the area. They made our stay easy and filled it with good vibes. The farm is GORGEOUS. Just one mile off paved roads and down a long, winding dirt road, their lovely 1903 farmhouse sits on five acres far from any noise other than birdsong and cicadas. I set up camp in a grass clearing between cottonwoods, cornfields to the east. Even though I got in just at dusk and claimed one of the last spots, it was perfect and felt private. The other campers were kind and respectful. Gina set out coffee and muffins in the morning. The eclipse, which I watched from down the road, was spectacular -- when I'd asked beforehand about a higher view, Gina and Joe kindly directed me to a ridge a few miles away. And the night held its own glories: a spectacular sunset and, later, a kaleidoscope of stars and a light show of far-off electrical storms between mountainous, distant clouds of purple and rose. The place has a wonderfully creative feel: Gina's shed (her "wo-man-cave") serves as shelter if you'd like some; it's a veritable retro-museum of lighted bar signs and vinyl records and music cassettes set into the ceiling. On the patio, she and Joe filled the "hillbilly hot tub" (a sturdy feeding tank) with 54-degree water for a brisk plunge -- a fantastic way to cool off at days' end -- and fired up the outdoor fireplace for after-glow relaxation. Chickens strut in another well-kept shed (also generously offering eggs), and a little pond garden offered kids delights for their fantasies. The center barn with renovated roof had been written up in the local paper for its beauty -- and for Gina and Joe's sheer pluck at making it beautiful again from it early-century days. Wonderful people, wonderful place! Thank you, Gina and Joe! I definitely recommend this site to anyone looking to get away and watch the sky.
