This camp spot is right by 2 tiny houses, has its own rocket stove grill, fire wood, fire pit and a water hose. If you want more seclusion i'm sure within the 20 acres there's plenty of space to pitch your tent or camper in one of many spots, near the cottonwood trees that make it sound like its always raining or on a hill so the view is as far as the eye can see or in the pine woods along our mulched prayer trail. Once you've settled in, feel free to explore the property. There are many spots where the sunrise & sunset is breathtaking. The portable toilets are a couple hundred feet away so that it can be used by both camp sites. The activities listed for this site are available at Ponca State Park or Powder Creek. On our farm we have access to hiking, exploring, hay bale jumping, and outdoor games and the winery is in Vermillion, SD. We love to share our land with whoever God brings our way. We are people of the Spirit, building intentional community and enjoy praying with others for healing, restoration and breakthrough in any area of their lives. We have seen lots of supernatural miracles and want to encourage you in any miracle you may need so please feel free to ask for prayer or to hear some cool miracle stories. But if you would rather be left alone that is fine too, just come, rest and be.

John and Audrey's place was outstanding. The minute we pulled up, we could feel how special and inviting the land was. We were greeted by a stunning blood moon and happy fireflies dancing in the fields. Audrey, John, and their family were so welcoming and gave us a wonderful tour; we learned about their food forest, permaculture knowledge, and their mission to build a community with those skills through sustainability and love. They were wonderful hosts with that were both caring and hospitable but also gave us our privacy. Restrooms were clean and well kept, and the grass freshly trimmed for us. They encouraged us to pick and eat the mulberries around the property, which we did of course! We even tried to work another camping night there into our travel schedule but the cards wouldn't have it. Can't recommend any higher staying here with this wonderful family and property.

Very good hosts. Very helpful and attentive. Gave tour of their property and history, which was very interesting. Great place to stay. Good people to interact with.

We had a wonderful time staying at the site. Audrey and John were incredibly generous hosts. They were kind enough to give us a tour of their property including nature trails and food forest and teach us how to use the rocket stove in the camping area to prepare dinner. The land is beautiful and we had a very enjoyable time exploring the area and relaxing by the bonfire. We are very grateful to John and Audrey as hosts and couldn't have had a more pleasant experience.
My stay at FoodForRest was just what I needed, a good solid night of sleep. The camp spot is in a cozy treed knoll, a night respise from the fall storms. I was road tripping without a definitive schedule, and Audrey responded promptly to my last minute request. Being fall, with heavy rains, she made sure I had the right vehicle before she confirmed booking. I wish I had taken the time to read the listings directions more clearly as my GPS lead my off a gravel road, the type which Audrey specifically had told me to avoid. I almost spent the night in a corn field, when my gravel road abruptly ended. Audrey was available to confirm my GPS location and offered escort to direct me back to the main road. In short, read the directions carefully. My trusty 4x4 saved me, but I spent alot at the carwash the next day. Welcome to farm country.
the drive into the countryside and the modest fee charged was well worth the solitude. waking up and being able to walk across rolling hills, walk the meditation/prayer trail in the garden, and breath fresh country air was a much-needed break from 4 days of continuous driving. Audrey and her family have a cool little thing going with some diverse planting utilizing permaculture and a growing market garden which should enhance their already well-fostered land. camp here if you're passing through sioux falls or sioux city! Thanks =]
Our travel plans changed but Audrey was so lovely and understanding! Thank you!
We really enjoyed our time at this site! Audrey was kind enough to meet us a little way down the road so that we wouldn't find ourselves trapped on the muddier roads. We stayed on the 4th of July and found the fireflies to be an excellent replacement for fireworks. Overall, the space was perfect, the restroom was clean, and the host was perfect!

Wow Casey! Thank you! We were so happy to have you both! You're a beautiful family! Your dogs are so sweet and I'm excited for your glorious marriage journey😉
This place is incredible! I just needed a bit of time away from Omaha, and I stayed one night. It was so peaceful and beautiful - absolutely serene. The whole host family is precious and kind - and they are definitely willing to adapt to your needs as far as how much or how little you want/need them around. They have a wonderful dream for all of their space, and they shared it while we walked on one of the trails - the walking paths are very nice! I enjoyed getting to know the family a bit, and I definitely will be going back. The campsite is cool - great view, clean - with fire pit, hammocks nearby, etc... there is well water for washing (and such) and some bottled water is supplied. Side note - there was a relatively wild, unexpected storm in the middle of the night and the hosts came to my rescue - offering help if I wanted/needed it.
If you have a chance - it’s worth it come out and enjoy the sanctuary even if it’s just a short bit of time.

Thank you so much! We enjoyed having you and look foward to visiting with you again!
