I stayed just one night at Willow Point and I will be ABSOLUTELY coming back. 1 day is just not long enough to be at this gorgeous oasis. It is a perfect getaway spot, I was able to truly disconnect from the world(even if I still had good cell service). The spot is right next to the river, with what looks like a very unknown and quiet public access area across the water. A few passerby swimmers & fisherman in the river but other than that, not a human in sight. Thank you Walt for sharing this amazing space.
We very much enjoyed Willow Point. It was peaceful and nicely kept up. A couple things we wish we had been more aware of... there was no easy access to the river, the camp site is on top of a beaver home and the only access to the river in the camping area was directly over or next to a beaver hole and on a very steep embankment. I had hoped for access to the river. When we wandered down farther and found access to the water, we were told it wasn’t part of the camp site. So that was a bummer. We really wanted to be able to get into the river with our dogs. That said, the location was serene, and the views were nice. The photos posted showed water access but the site doesn’t really have a spot to get in. So just be aware of that when you make your reservation.
Great site right on the river. River was clean and shallow enough in some places to walk. Host was super welcoming and accommodating.

It was gorgeous and secluded. The River was the perfect temp and was great to tube down right in front of the the campsite. Fish jumped out of the river right in front of us. We can’t wait to go here again.

Gorgeous spot. As advertised. Wonderful swimming. Great host. Would definitely stay here again.
No complaints!
The space was gorgeous and Walter was very welcoming! It had running water and a porta potty at the site which was a huge plus! Had to park at the top of the hill and walk things down to the site but that was no big deal. Strong current right on the bank, but walk a bit into the river and it’s perfection. I highly recommend this space!!
Walter is a great host. The site is right on the river and very spacious with great amenities. Would visit again if we were in the area.
We just finished an 11 day road trip through 5 states and of all the places we stayed Walter’s was by far the best(and maybe the best we’ve ever had on Hipcamp). We felt super lucky to get to be in such a special spot down by the beautiful river. 100% recommend.
We loved this spot just on the outskirts of downtown Missoula. Walter was a great host and very accommodating. We loved that we were right on the river by ourselves. We fished and paddle-boarded. There was cut wood for us for a fire and a clean porta pottie. We would definitely stay here again on our way back through.
