Staying here was such a treat on my long camping road trip. I didn't do enough research before booking this so when I arrived and found out I had a whole camper to myself, I was so pleasantly surprised! The camper is perfect and has everything you could need.
Craig is a wonderful host and I really enjoyed his company (as well as his son and dogs!). He directed me to a beautiful spot for swimming on Flathead Lake which was perfect. My dog got along really well with his, and I enjoyed watching them play. Craig even helped me hose my dog off when she got muddy from playing so hard haha!
It's very easy to find his place (follow the directions to the T), and the location was really convenient for exploring the Whitefish/Flathead Lake area. Amazing view as well! Can't recommend this place enough and hope to visit someday again! Thanks Craig!
The ponderosa was absolutely perfect for what we were looking for! Amazing lake views and the cozy little camper was more than big enough for my husband and I and our two dogs. The wooded area is so magical with deer roaming around and it was so unbelievably quiet that my husband actually scolded me for shouting at the dogs and disturbing the silence, oops 🤭 If you are looking for pure solitude and a beautiful place to do it, you won’t be disappointed with the ponderosa. We didn’t get to hang out at camp much but Craig was available for anything we needed and was a great host. Thanks so much we would definitely come back and absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a little slice of paradise near Flathead Lake.
This site is definitely off the beaten track, and the view is fabulous. Craig was congenial and helpful. We had plenty of space and water, and the solar shower worked fine (except when is was cool and rainy, but no-one complained). We were able to cook over a fire and just generally had a great visit. Close enough to Glacier National Park that it was an easy day-trip. And the Miracle of America museum in Polson, is a hidden gem.
No room in the inn
We reserved and paid for a stay in a trailer on the ponderosa many weeks out. I messaged with the host several times leading up to the stay to ensure he was expecting us and there were no problems. We drove from Kentucky and arrived at the property to find no one there, no instructions and a trailer that was parked in the driveway and clearly not ready for use. When I was able to make contact with the host via phone several hours later, he informed me that he was no longer renting the trailer. He didn’t have any other ideas for accommodations so we were on our own at 6pm at night to find other accommodations for the next 2 nights. My sense is that the host is not a bad guy. He is just not too concerned about the details. Unfortunately for us, we had paid lots of attention to the details because we drove 2,500 miles to celebrate the birthday of our two kids on that particular day. Fortunately we were able to find some
other good ways to celebrate. If you want to be in Polson and have a tent or trailer and lots of flexibility, Craig’s property is gorgeous and I’m sure it would be a great please to stay. If you are looking for solid plans - go somewhere else.
Craig was very accommodating and made sure we had everything we needed when we arrived. The view was amazing and his 2 pups were a plus especially because they played so well with ours.
