This place is simply amazing. We stayed there the evening after our 3 day trek in YNP. The food at the Cafe was amazing we had dinner as well as our included breakfast. The free breakfast was exceptional. It’s all homemade! Organic and simply wonderful. This place is welcoming to all kinds of folks. We felt at home.

This secluded area of Montana is something special. From the valley surrounding the cabins to the spot itself, this was a really beautiful and serene trip that made us not want to leave. The food was great and the morning sun on the picnic tables, with a coffee and a book, was an amazing start to the day. There was also live music at the bar/lodge across from the cabins at night and during breakfast and the log cabin cafe the next day. The cabin itself is very cool in the summer, clean, and a perfect stop before or after Yellowstone. Embrace the lack of service and WiFi, it makes the experience even more special.

Our stay here was amazing! Will definitely be returning. The drive to the site was one of the most beautiful I have ever experienced and the time there was cozy and close to so many cool things!

Staying at the Log Cabin Cafe was one of the highlights of our trip to Yellowstone. Having only driven through before, we were very curious about everything...

Let’s start with our cabin
We stayed closest to the creek. Our keyless entry meant we could come and go as we pleased without any hassle. The porch light was on waiting for us :) inside we found a darling little home away from home (we live in a tiny house) a comfortable queen bed dressed perfectly, and adorable furniture set to match :) the bathroom cabin was separate but only a few feet from our door. You have to duck to enter but can stand up just fine inside. Even though the bathroom was shared it was never an issue and was always clean the 3 nights we stayed :)

Now the Cafe
WoW!
Anything from the menu for 2 was included every morning for breakfast anytime between 7-11Am!
We weren’t on any set schedule so we learned it was better to not go during the rush (super early animal watchers) so we could enjoy our time enjoying the food and getting to know the extremely pleasant staff!

I tried something new each day and was never disappointed! My husband got the same thing every day which should be a clear indicator that the French Toast is amazing!!! And just to be honest I was given the opportunity to have the famous pumpkin bread turned into French Toast and OMG! It was like everything that’s good in the world inside my mouth all at once :)
We also had several dinners there and were always pleased!

To sum it all up:
Stay here and stay for several days so you can try the whole menu. Such a wonderful time we had and we will absolutely be back to make more memories and get more French toast!

Oh and to see “Jackson” the buffalo that visited our front yard each evening. We can’t wait to be back!

I was on a solo adventure through one of the most awe-inspiring terrains I've traipsed through- the Beartooth Highway and Cooke City, MT. I needed a simple, cozy place to stay; Kay's Cabin was perfect and totally on-key with my adventure. Dinner and breakfast at the Log Cabin; a warm shower, and a 4-hour horseback ride from local outfitters up into the mountains scratched my "I Want To Get Out There" itch that was fairly tempered by bear concerns and the fact that I was alone. You can't camp in tents in nearby campgrounds, so I went to sleep in the cozy log frame bed of Kay's Cabin feeling content and protected in my own personal bear canister. This place is magical, quiet, authentic; stay if you can. Oh-- and I forgot the door code after leaving my phone, notes, and good sense inside on a wander to see the moon over the mountains; the sweet women in the cafe helped me look it up (no small feat in a place with no signals/internet). Also, their signs in support of Black Lives Matter gave me a big heart swell of gratitude for being in just the right place with just the right kind of folks. YES

Nice cabin, cute restaurant and awesome food.
Pros- very close (3 minutes) to Northeast entrance of Yellowstone NP, great views, complementary breakfast or packed lunch each day, food is really good
Cons- travel time from site to trailheads (Yellowstone is really more set up for staying in the park as there is significant travel time between locations), walkway from parking to cabin doors is a little slapped together

Staying at the Log cabin was such an amazing experience. We were driving through form Yellowstone into Red Lodge Mt, thanks to a recommendation from a friend to drive the Beartooth scenic byway. This is the perfect spot to stay a night or a couple. We stayed in Kay’s cabin and it was perfect. Such a welcomed stay after several nights camping in the car! The food at the Lodge is also amazing. Get the pancakes for breakfast, you won’t be disappointed. Thank you!! ;)
