...or in the adjoining field anyway! We are 20 miles east of Missoula, MT near the Kettlehouse Ampitheater in Bonner. Our location is halfway between Yellowstone and Glacier National Park. There are mountain bike paths, river access points for paddling, rafting or fishing within minutes of our land. We can even help you know where to go. Our land is surrounded by Nature Conservancy land with a public recreation easement, so you can hike and take your horse for a ride very easily.
In a vehicle, you can pull into one of our pastures for your stay. Where you are depends on which field the sheep are eating! Tents also work in the field. We do not have any hookups. The fields are that - pasture fields. There are quiet neighbors across the fence. We are happy to offer advice about local attractions via messaging due to covid (rather than in person).
This is pack it in, pack it out
During the pandemic we ask that you wear a face covering if you have a reason to talk with us, even across the fence out of an abundance of caution since most of you are traveling from out of state. Tours are also temporarily suspended.

Places to see near Rainbow Gulch Farm
If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
Our stay at Rainbow Gulch was lovely, and Lisa's directions were very easy to follow. The property is easily accessible from Missoula, and we had an excellent breakfast at Poor Henry's the next morning :) The site was not as quiet as we'd have hoped, as the field is quite small and highway noises abound. Ultimately, though, that's no different from any other off-highway site. Would definitely recommend!
This site was great and exactly what we were looking for. We opted to stay in the remote location about a quarter mile up the jeep trail. It was exactly as described and I highly recommend if you have 4wheel drive and want a good secluded camp spot next to a creek.
This was a wonderful place to stay! Even though we arrived pretty late, Lisa was so accommodating and kind! She was on top of it with communication which was much appreciated. The farm was gorgeous and the animals were SO cute :) I would absolutely reccommend this place to anyone passing through.
Lisa and her partner were very accommodating! The animals were delightful to watch, and the space was a very nice place to park my van. I would definitely recommend this spot to others. Very easy to access from I-90.
Lisa was so sweet and communicative throughout the process. We had a beautiful sunset and their cow was the friendliest cow I’ve ever met! My partner and I felt safe and, especially very safe with our 6 mo old puppy roaming the grounds on our long leash. I would recommend this very cute and easily accessible site and will want to stay here again on future camping/road trips.
The site offered very small and limited space. Not maintained appropriately to pitch a tent up. The site was muddy with a lot of the sheep and other farm animals roaming freely in and out from their pasture and in to the tent site. The pictures provided from the host for the camping area can be deceitful and didn't reveal the real picture. I wouldn't recommend this place for camping, especially if you have kids along. Considering the beauty Montana can offer for outdoors, this place is definitely not one of them. Our party decided not to stay there. We did find a place in a near by campground. We have also sent a message to the host explaining our concerns about the the condition of the space and asking for a refund, but we never got an reply back.
We loved sharing our spot with such a friendly cow and all the little bunnies. Our pasture mate really, really likes treats and kicked around excited when she thought she was gonna get some. It rubbed against our trailer a few times. It was fun to say hi to the sheep. There was lots of street, train and freeway noise. But you get the benefit of getting immediate access to the road. So great resting spot. Friendly and helpful hosts. Great for people who love farm life. Thanks again!
