is where you will find a true Montana experience. When you think of Montana this is the area you dream about, Plain and simple!Rabbit O'Brien Camp is a world away from the beaten path in a valley well away from the nearest town. Still it"s only 15 minutes to the nearest store, coffee shop, and restaurants. Here you can find everything from solitary natural campsites, to parking for campers in an area with a communal patio that overlooks a small valley with commanding views of the Cabinet mountain range. We have 2 creeks, and a small waterfall to enjoy that is right where the small creek [Rabbit] winds its way into the larger creek [O'Brien]. On the main lawn you can star watch and see the occasional meteor shower, sattelites, passing overhead, and a few times a year if you're really lucky you will be witness to the northern lights. Our camping is off the grid, and we can give you an education in off grid living based on our experiences. [its really not too hard to live an on the grid lifestyle off grid and enjoy the benefits and freedom of being OFF THE GRID]. Nice and GREEN!In the immediate vicinity you can hike the many trails, enjoy a drive up the mountain, and pick huckleberries when in season. For those ATV and bike enthusiasts opportunities abound!
Right from the property you can explore on your ATV the many miles of mountaintop viewsA little further away you can drive to Yaak falls, and farther north to the Canadian border area. Also Kootenai falls is nearby and was featured in the movie The Revenant. There are guides available locally for the amazing fishing opportunities in the rivers, and beautiful lake Koocanusa that streches 90 miles from Libby up into Canada. Dunno bout you but we ABSOLUTELY LOOVE fresh trout on the fire!
Our camp is always evolving so we ask for your patience and understanding. So come on over! Just getting here is an interesting adventure, and when you do arrive, just relax, and enjoy the peace and quiet of a Montana mountain getaway. You'll never forget it!

A beautiful setting and friendly hosts! The hand built deck located at the RV Camping area is an awesome touch to the property. Each site has its own picnic table and set up area with a view of the surrounding Cabinet Mountains! Definitely worth staying if you're in the area, or make it a destination spot on your road trip!
David and his wonderful wife were wonderful hosts. We thoroughly enjoyed our escape from college off the grid in beautiful Montana. We camped down by the creek which provided a wonderful hammocking spot as well as gentle noise at night while we lay in the tent. Their bath house was wonderful and we all agreed that we could easily camp their longer with the hot showers they provided! The deck had the most beautiful view of the mountains and was great for roasting marshmallows! David provided great advice on places to explore in the area. We enjoyed the Main Perk Cafe in town, the lake a few miles up the road and the falls. A perk is the adorable twin deer that we decided to call Montana's special breed of dog. We look forward to our next visit, especially to see Dodo and Buckie.
