This little 10'x12' cabin has incredible views of the Tobacco Root Mountains, and is smack in the middle of a working cattle ranch.  A great hunter's cabin for autumn excursions!  A plush queen bed mattress and picnic table with a small propane stove/oven, electricity, wifi, and a cute bathhouse with composting toilet (hot showers available at the ranch house) round out the offering.  Bring your own bedding, or rent ours.

Please arrive before 8:00pm, as we farmers sleep and rise early, and the cabin is 100yds from our house.

We raise heritage Red Devon cattle and commercial blacks and reds, selling all our grassfed beef in Bozeman, and our breeding animals to other ranches from northern Alberta to southern Nevada.  Harrison and Ennis Reservoirs are nearby for fishing and boating adventures, the Tobacco Root Mtns. are filled with hiking trails, and Yellowstone National Park is only 90 miles away through gorgeous country.  Lewis and Clark Caverns, Headwaters State Park, Canyon Ferry Reservoir, Helena and Bozeman are all within easy driving distance.  Norris Hot Springs(13 miles away) is open Friday-Sunday.   Bald Eagles nest nearby, coyotes and elk often sing overnight, trout abound in Willow Creek (which runs through the property) and stars by the thousands are overhead at night.

Hikes on foot, and supervised dogs, are permitted in the fields on the ranch which do not contain livestock (all visiting dogs must be leashed at all times on the ranch when they are in any field containing cattle).   Bicycles are welcome on the gravel roads of the ranch, and there are good public trails into the mountains behind the village of Pony, 3 miles from the ranch.

Imagine driving on I90 through South Dakota into Montana. Not a whole lot of accommodation available. I checked in with an app called Hipcamp that until a day ago I had never heard of. Lo and behold there was a small cabin available at the Red Devon ranch. A 25 minute drive south off I90 just after Bozeman landed us on a 500 acre cattle ranch run by Riley, his brother and mother. The cabin has an uninterrupted view of the Tobacco root mountains and is idyllic. There is an outhouse with running water, an outside cooking stove and free run of an amazing property. Spent a long time learning about cattle and chickens from his mother Jenny as well as friendly visits from the always friendly Cesar the Staffordshire terrier. Turns out we were the first guests to book in on this new venture, a real stroke of fortune as I think this will be a real favorite amongst Hipcampers traveling in that area.
Thank you Riley and Jenny for an amazing stay!!

We really love Riley's cabin, it's very clean and cozy and exactly as pictured. The view is amazing during the sunset. Riley's family is super friendly and helpful, they are the best host we've ever had and made our stay so much more special. We will book again and bring friends to share the experience.
