Bring your camper or pitch a tent along Lower Deer Creek and enjoy a relaxed Montana camping experience. We have hundreds of acres for you to explore, and we are just 10 miles from town where you can shop, play golf, go to a movie, dine out, or explore the nearby Crazy Mountains or Beartooth Absaroka range. We live along National Forest Access 482, which will take you 25 miles into the forest. We do offer UTV rentals complete with a picnic lunch or you can hike and explore on bikes or on foot. If you want electrical hook-ups, you will need to camp away from the creek near our outbuildings, but you will still have a beautiful setting to establish your base camp.

The vibe at Metcalf Ranch Campouts
If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
The best part about this campground was the animals. The horses came over to say hello, the dogs followed me around, and there was an adorable cat who loves to be pet. The scenery was beautiful too, with a creek running next to my tent and mountains surrounding the campsite. Susan was a wonderful host as well. She made sure that I had everything I needed, and she even baked some amazing chocolate chip cookies.
Metcalf ranch was just perfect for what we needed, nice and private but the owners were very friendly and helpful. The dogs had a great time playing in the creek and running in the tall grass. Loved hearing the creek running while we slept in our tent. Highly recommend!
We waited for hours but host never showed up. We weren't sure where the sites were, so we wound up just leaving after calling and messaging on site several times. Property looked beautiful, was easy to find following directions, and when the owner did finally get back to us 2 days later, she was good about issuing us a refund.
Very beautiful creek and we could hear the running water all the time. Campsites are in horse pastures. If you are not comfortable with horseflies and horse poo, pass on this one. You will have to use the field as your toilet as well (host said that there is a outhouse but it’s very far.). Creek was wonderful, The host let us fill up a water jug in her sink.
Susan was so responsive and friendly. The directions were easy. We ended up staying there on a night that another hipcamper was there as well, but it wasn't an issue at all. The property is very large and we just set up camp further down the creek. Private and quiet. The dogs were so sweet and my kids were excited to see the horses. The area was just lovely.
