Sudden Valley Ranch is a peaceful paradise. This is a family farm - 138 acres with 1.5 miles of creek (the depth of the creek depends on Mother Nature - but you can typically find a swimming hole year round). There are woods, hills, ridges and open pastures/hay fields; we sit in a large valley with beautiful views. We have horses, chickens, a farm dog and barn cats. We have a large seasonal garden. You may see wild life - deer, turkey, rabbits, hawks, eagles and raccoons.
We offer 2 rustic tent campsites that are separate and private from our home and each other. You may easily walk or drive to the campsites. Each campsite has a private outhouse, and a fire ring with an ample supply of wood. You have access to fresh well water through a spigot. We have a four-man tent available for a fee. Ticks are a concern during the month of June - you may want to bring bug spray.
Warrenton is located about 30 miles north of Washington, Missouri. Washington is a quaint town located on the Missouri River with several wineries in the surrounding area. We are also about 24 miles north of Marthasville where you can ride the Katy Trail. Hermann, Missouri is 34 miles southwest of us - another quaint town whose seven wineries produce about one-third of the state's wine. Big Joel's Safari and Long Row Lavender farm are both located in Wright City less than 10 miles away.
Come and relax, read a book, draw/sketch/paint, or simply let the sounds of nature lull you to sleep. We believe you will leave rejuvenated!

Sudden Valley Ranch is gorgeous and the camp sites are very well maintained. The hosts are friendly and I loved walking around the spacious ranch before I had to get on the road again. If you want a site off the beaten path but easy to get to, this is a great option.
Sudden Valley Ranch was a wonderful place to stay. The area is beautiful. Randy and Milissa were wonderful hosts going above and beyond to make it a great visit. I would highly recommend staying here.
The site was fantastic. There was everything we needed at the site. We relaxed in the creek on sun and it was very relaxing. We will be back. Best site we have found.
Amazing private spot... You have to see it to believe it... All the ammenties u could ever need and not need even lol..... I will definitely be back, loved every minute of my stay..
I arrived later than I had originally expected but it was not a problem at all, great property with a wonderful early morning sunrise.

This spot was perfect! Definitely exceeded my expectations!!! I’m coming back next week with my daughter.
The hosts are great and have built up the sites nicely. However; I would be weary if you’re bringing a dog with you. They have two really sweet farm dogs, but one of them was unfortunately too sweet and paid us a visit in the middle of the night. This made our dog pretty upset since she didn’t know who or what was outside the tent. We had to pack up our stuff and sleep in the car for the rest of the night. Everything else was great and would totally recommend if you’re not bringing pets!
Hosts were welcoming. Camping site was clean, well-maintained, and private. Great hospitality! Randy and Milissa provided many personal and well thought out touches. Exceeded our expectations! We enjoyed our site very much! We would definitely use this site again and highly recommend it for others!

This site was beautiful and secluded. Randy and Milissa have created such a great setup. Nice big firepit with a grill grate to put over it for cooking, great picnic table, and an outdoor cabinet that was well organized with all kinds of cooking utensils and other supplies. The outhouse right next to the campsite was super clean and well kept. Really nice that they provided chopped firewood for us as well. The hosts were very communicative and accommodating, and they gave detailed directions that made it really easy to find the site. We only spent one night, but we got there early enough to enjoy a walk next to the creek, which was right by the campsite. Highly recommend Sudden Valley Ranch to anyone looking for a nice campsite in the area. Great for couples, families, or a small group of friends.

Brittany, We are sorry to hear our young, rescued, friendly dog - who loves our campers - found her way to your campsite in the middle of the night. We typically keep her in at night - but obviously did not the night you camped. If you would like to camp with us again - we assure you she will be in for the night!
