The secluded campsite by the small lake is outstanding! There is a tremendous amount of wildlife here on the edge of the Mark Twain National Forest. I caught lots of nice fish! My first thought was, “no one fishes this lake”. I was catching on nearly every cast. This is also an amazing place to kayak and canoe. The 2 lakes are joined by a very cool canal. I will be back! There is still a lot left to explore.

Bath house is the nicest I have ever seen of it’s type. Yes. That is an island covered with flowering plants.

This place is absolutely amazing. The secluded campsite is beautiful, clean and provides plenty of privacy. It is a great escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The road in is like an old jeep trail thru the woods, so I definitely suggest 4wd although luckily my van made it just fine. The little and big lake are perfect, and great for fishing/swimming/paddling. There is a cool little canal that connects the two lakes that you can paddle through. We brought our own kayaks and had plenty of fun putting around on the lakes and fishing. The dock on the big lake is beautiful as well and they had the best bath house I've ever seen at a camp ground. Host and his family were all very nice and accommodating. We can't wait to come back!
