Magnificent location and hosting
This was one of if not the most spectacular sites I have been fortunate to experience. It was only shadowed by the incredibly gracious and accommodating hosts . This is a true destination gift.
This was our first outing with our new camper trailer. As a result, we struggled with a few things. However, the hosts at Spring Valley Ranch were very friendly and helpful. The area is beautiful and we were lucky enough to have the place mostly to ourselves. I don’t think that’s a common thing, just the luck of the draw. Tent camping would be great here. RV camping is good, but be sure to bring lots of levelers!
Our stay was beautiful and quiet.
Our stay was beautiful and quiet. Exactly what we wanted. The lake was beautiful and especially so at sunset. The dock is in great condition as are the kayaks and canoes if you chose to rent them. They have ice, charcoal, and firewood available if you forget yours. The bath house is clean, new, and with hot water. This is a great, quiet and peaceful place to camp. We didn’t take advantage of the hiking or kayaking. We went to Elephant Rock Park and Johnson Shut-In instead. A short drive and a great place to visit as well. We are trying to get our dog acclimated to large groups of people while hiking prior to heading out for a two week camping/hiking trip. We would definitely return to take advantage of the lake and hiking. Oh there is also a Winery just up the road. Edg Cliff Winery. Very nice people as well. Bring your own food and make it an afternoon.
Great place, rv sites need work
Let me start by saying the people who own this place are awesome! Very helpful and kind! The grounds are gorgeous! The lake is clean and beautiful! We had a great time swimming, fishing and kayaking. The draw back was the RV sites. If you go here to primitive camp, you are in for a treat. The RV sites however are not...nice. The 50 amp site was very scary and challenging to get into. We have a 37 foot motorhome. If you have something smaller it would be a bit easier. We had a lake view once I used a saw and clippers and cut down some weeds and weed trees (with thorns I might add). These weeds surrounded the camp site. There wasn't a picnic table at either site. The 30 amp site was basically on the road, easy to park in but still not ideal. Both sites were level which was helpful. This place has a lot of potential. We will go back, once the RV sites are managed a little better. There are a few rental houses that I wouldn't hesitate to stay at and they are building a tree house that looks absolutely incredible!
Private amazing lake view
RV site #2 is amazing! Private with a great view of the lake. This is our 4th time staying there and will continue to do so. It is one of our favorite place to go to in Missouri. I would say that the site could be a tight fit our rig is 22 feet. I couldn't imagine maneuvering too much bigger.
