Our family really enjoyed the privacy that our campsite provided but we were not so secluded that we felt isolated. Our children loved waking up to the sound of cows in the pastures and watching the horses play, they also made friends with the goats. We enjoyed an hour long horseback ride into the beautiful woods. The lake was one of the clearest I've seen in the midwest and the fishing was great which we were able to do on three sides of our campsite. We are definitely planning on going back!

Cute place overall. Our site was a new site on property, and while we enjoyed the privacy of the peninsula, it was on a large slant and overgrown a bit. And there were a ton of folks staying on the property so it was difficult to social distance in the shared areas such as the small beachfront and deck. Great showering facilities. Loved seeing all the farm animals.

Delightful camp site. Private, but an easy walk to anything we could need. Great site for fishing. Absolutely gorgeous scenery (especially for the beginning of fall). Be advised, as a penninsula, it is a tad rocky, so beware staking your tent that you don't damage the stake. But all around a fantastic experience. Highly recommended and would love to go again.

The site was absolutely perfect for us/exactly what we were hoping for! It seemed as if we arrived towards the end of their busier season, so there was minimal activity on the ranch (that we noticed).

We didn’t use the directions provided, as once you get onto 185 from downtown Potosi, the signage was ample direction (not to mention it was only a total of 3 turns from town).

We met one of the owners of the property, although we didn’t catch his name. He was kind and polite! The young person working the store/check-in desk was equally kind and polite upon our arrival on Saturday night.

We imagine that during the summer, the ranch is popping, but as I mentioned earlier, we arrived 10/31/2020, so it was rather empty (which we were totally cool with).

If you’re traveling there during wetter seasons, I would recommend AWD at a minimum as the peninsula is mostly red clay. It was pretty dry during our stay and I had zero issues in and out in my Pathfinder with only RWD, but I definitely sunk a bit into the clay.

Overall - Spring Lake Ranch was great! 10/10 would recommend

Privacy @ peninsula site - perfect 👌🏼

Bonus - horses, goats, cows AND at least one bison

Good place! Nice hike and the place was private across from all the other camping. I got to kayak as well!
