Awesome spot with a great cabin and lake. Jim was very nice and the fishing was great! If you do rent this, make sure to have a 4 wheel drive vehicle because the road going up and down the big hull is pretty steep. Other than that it was great!

We loved this place and can’t wait to come back! In fact, we may book again soon. Very secluded without being too far from the city. Beautiful spot to relax and enjoy the outdoors. The road was pretty rough to get in and out of. We would love to come back but hope that is in better shape when we do.
This place is amazing, private and Jim is the best host! We will be coming back for sure!! Thanks for helping make my daughters birthday weekend a blast!!

Jim was an excellent host. Incredibly responsive and helpful. He came by the first night to make sure things were alright and to make sure everything was clean from previous guests. The spot was beautiful - tucked away on the private little lake and at night you can hear coyotes, the nearby wolf sanctuary, tons of frogs, crickets, and nature. There's also a private entrance to hiking trails in the neighbouring Castlewood State Park right by the site. We camped under the covered patio which is perfectly set up with provided chairs, a small table, a great fire pit and little dock to do fishing, kayaking, (and swimming if you dare to venture past the muck! ;) ) The outhouse is also right next to the house structure for easy access. Other reviews mentioned the dirt road quality to get down to the campsite and our little hatchback definitely struggled with bottoming out. If you have a low car, it's worth it to park at the top of the hill and carry your stuff down to the bottom to avoid any issues. The spot is tucked away, but not 100% remote as there are trails that run by the other side of the lake - we saw horse riders and others passing through during our time there. A few pickup trucks would drive through as well to the nearby plots. The weekend would have been perfect except for construction the neighbours were doing around the site all weekend. Jim was very apologetic about it and kindly gave us a refund. We ended up leaving early but would definitely love to come back when everything is finished!
