Great place to stop for the night on our cross-country trip. We're animal lovers and really appreciated the menagerie that roamed the grounds: dogs, ducks, geese, chickens, and two adorable miniature goats. The fish were jumping in the lake when we arrived in the evening. If i remember correctly, they keep it stocked with bass and muskie. A fishing pole was leaning against a tree, inviting guests to cast a line.
Our host Mike and his family were wonderfully friendly, but also respected our privacy and gave us space to enjoy the land. Finding a level place to park the Airstream was tricky, but it was easy enough to back it up and turn it around come morning. Unfortunately, when we were packed up and ready to head out we discovered that our car battery was dead - aargh! Luckily, Mike's father was home at his adjoining property, and lent us his battery charger. After thirty minutes of charging and easy conversation, we were on our way. Very appreciative of the help!
