We loved our stay out at the horse sanctuary! The directions were clear and accurate, and the site was remote and private. We loved getting to camp right next to the beautiful horses on the sanctuary; all of them have a unique incredible story and it was wonderful to meet them and hear about them. Candy, the host, was absolutely wonderful and we loved getting to talk to her and hear the story of the sanctuary. We can't recommend staying at this incredible place enough!

if you’re looking for a private corner of the world with a great view, this is it.

Thank you, Madi! We appreciate your positive review.
Beautiful spot in the back of a field. We had a great stay here and was able to go to the creek nearby with directions from the host :)

So glad you found it., With the drought we've been having lately the water is much lower than usual. But still fun!
Great private place surrounded by animals including beautiful horses and baby chickens. Directions were clear and host was very non intrusive. A great night with beautiful stars.

Thank you! So glad you got to see the baby chicks. They are only a "seasonal" thing.
Wonderful place, directions were very specific and the host was lovely. It was my birthday and I was road tripping to college with my sister. After a long day of driving it was so nice to be in nature and see awesome horses and stargaze at night. :) Would totally reccomend to others. All proceeds go to such a great cause also!

Thank you so much. So glad you were happy!
To start, directions were spot on. Had no trouble locating the property or making our way to the campsite. The site was private, clean, and just what we were looking for. The hosts were kind enough to bring us extra wood in the evening time at no charge. We enjoyed the large open space and watching the horses graze. The only downside would be there is some road noise in the morning due to being located close to the highway. Our favorite part was how private it was since there is only one campsite. Overall, we had a great time and will definitely be back.

Thank you for the great review!!
We stopped over on our trip across the country. It was the perfect spot for a quick night of rest! I can’t wait to come back to stay longer!

Thank you so very much, Grace, for your kind words! A promise of repeat business is the best compliment of all! Hipcamp has REALLY HELPED the Warriors of the Rainbow Horse Sanctuary, Inc,. in fulfilling its mission to create a world where no horse is left starved or abandoned, ever again. You had the opportunity to see our latest save, the lovely palomino foxtrotting mare, Sierra. She was one of the lucky ones, whose owner struggled determinedly to find her a place, once she herself could no longer take care of her, rather than abandon her to an uncertain fate through the auctions (for a 25-year-old mare, that probably would not have gone well at all). So, she came to us still fat enough and happy. These kinds of rescues are the best ones, where the horse has a safe transition prior to its soft landing, with us. Thank you, all Hipcampers! Sierra has a safe forever home here. And your Hipcamp dollars make this happen!!!
Peaceful, quiet, and relaxing! Full moon, shooting stars, and owls calling.

Shooting stars! Owls! It is true. Also (in season) lightning bugs, and dragon flies, and sometimes the wild deer even come up into the pasture, near the campsite, and stand by the pond waiting patiently for the old horse to finish her grain mash so they can sneak up and munch down the leavings.
Such a beautiful, quiet, relaxing space. It was just what I needed. I felt totally safe and everyone I met was so nice and helpful. The horses are beautiful and such a peaceful camping neighbor. I checked out the swimming hole just down the road and it was the most peaceful place! Totally recommend this spot.

I am so glad. Your recommendations are precious to me. You all are helping save horses. It is the most wonderful thing in the world.
