Serene setting, crystal clear creek
We had a great time staying at Big Creek Vulcan. We came with our 25ft travel trailer and 24ft rv and a tent camper. The campsite is flat and well maintained. Our kids enjoyed learning how to prime a well and pump water, and we appreciated the portable toilet on site. It is a very basic camp set up, however, it has the necessities(picnic table, fire pit, electric) and the setting is spectacular. We explored the creek behind the mobile home, and the kids loved the tree swing, but the best part was Big Creek. The short walk(or drive) down was peaceful and then we could swim/wade/float and catch tadpoles all day long. There were a few other people at the creek with us over the 4th of July weekend, but we mostly had it to ourselves! The water is crystal clear, there’s a ton of neat rocks, and it’s the perfect temperature to refresh without freezing:) The camp host was attentive to my messages and clear with instructions. I can’t wait to camp here again with our kids’ friends and their families. It’s a great spot for a family/friend camping trip!
My husband and I and our two dogs enjoyed our stay here! It was set back in a woodsy area with a gorgeous view of an open hay field with the mountains in the background. Very private and firewood was supplied. The water area is down the road further from the site but was very cool and clear. No reception at campsite so make sure to write down the directions the host gives you! Many beautiful and amazing parks located nearby the area. Elephant Rocks was our favorite! Definitely want to come back and travel to more park areas.
