Pitch a tent or park a camper or small RV on our nonprofit farm. We have 5 acres of pasture/garden and 15 acres of woods in the River Bluffs of NW Missouri. Find a place in a meadow to star gaze and watch the moon, or hike into the woods for a secluded camping experience. Beautiful rolling hills, wildlife, wild flowers, peace and quiet are just a few of the perks in this rare location next to the Bluffwoods Conservation Area.
Be prepared to get your hands dirty with this listing. All campers get to volunteer one hour per day while staying at Beacon Farm. We are a nonprofit growing food for those in need. Donating 100's of pounds of food to our local food pantries and soup kitchens. Your hour of volunteer time each day could consist of harvesting veggies, weeding, stacking wood, milking goats, or any number of other things, depending on the time of year you are here. We look forward to meeting you and hearing where your travels have taken you.

The vibe at Beacon's Camping for a Cause
If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
Wonderful nature getaway just an hour from Kansas City. Nestled in the scenic bluffs of St. Joseph Kevin and Cheri's land offers a beautiful setting for a night of camping. Comfortable sites, toilet and fresh water provided just steps away from your site. Much to do on the property from volunteering on daily projects to exploring the nature reserve that surrounds their land.
Thanks Kevin and Cheri for a comfortable night in the great outdoors!
Beacon was a great spot to camp and hang out. Kevin and Cheri are doing a great job bringing the right types of inspiration into the world. I'd camp here again for sure. Try some of the fresh goat cheese or other farm fresh delights they might have on hand while you are here. You will not be disappointed!
We recommend staying here! The hosts have done a great job preparing their land to help campers have a good time. They built an outdoor compositing toilet, long hiking trails (with map) and separate campsites for both tents and RVs. They also have firewood for sale in case you don't feel like bringing your own. If you're an animal lover, be sure to checkout the horse and sheep on your way in.
