Welcome to the Burrow, a project of All You Need Institute!

We have 111 acres of diverse and rare habitats including mixed pine and hardwood wood forest, 1+ acre swimmable pond, a springhead/bottomland creek area, and the unique beachy white sands, seafoam green lichen wonderscape (do not walk on or collect the lichens!!!). There are miles of trails for hiking and plenty of space to just commune with nature.

Our northern boundary is a tract of DeSoto National Forest, where we have practically exclusive access to another 90 acres that includes longleaf pine savannah and more creeks. Our land is also home to the endangered gopher tortoise (stay at least 15 feet from their burrows!!!), as well as the threatened black pine snake and many other interesting flora and fauna.

The Burrow is a grassroots project aimed at developing a nature and sustainable living education center. We aim to live in right relationship with the land and implement conservation practices to increase the biodiversity and health of the ecosystems around us while simultaneously providing for our own needs. We regularly offer educational workshops and retreats on these topics.

Nearby our site are canoeing and kayaking outfitters so that you can plan a trip down the Black Creek or explore DeSoto National forest. We would love to have you stay with us!

This is one really beautiful piece of Mississippi land. The folks at the Burrow are doing great conservation work to help maintain a healthy ecosystem here, like controlled burning and tortoise habitat protection. There are plenty of trails to explore and overall lots of lovely scenery.

As for the campsites listed, some are not entirely set up yet with amenities like fire ring nor toilet. They said we can camp wherever we wanted though, and we found an awesome spot which was like a beach inside a forest. Just be prepared to wing it a little and youll have a great time.

An amazing couple of days. We floated on the pond for hours and hours. Truly unique and cool ecology, loads of walking trails. Our hosts made sure we were set up with everything we needed and then left us alone to enjoy their little pocket of natural wonder. Really a great swimming pond, nice place.

Jordan was a great host. The site was quite secluded and pretty. We had brief interactions with the only other campers at a distance. Brought our tubes and floated on the pond all afternoon. Very enjoyable.

We were extremely happy with The Burrow. The pond is great and Jordan was great during our three night stay! While the price is more than were used to for camping, the swimming pond and the included well water make this spot so worth it!

A group of four of us stayed at one of the more dispersed sites. Kezia was very responsive and accommodated my party despite having to shuffle some things around. We had a fabulous time walking the property, and exploring the beautiful woods! Our secluded spot was very private and cozy. The spots around the pond are less private but have quick access for a cool dip. Our secluded spot was only a minute or two walk to the pond. They are working on a few new sites and I will definitely be back!
