Rest, relax & rejuvenate is right!
Brian’s site was gorgeous, secluded and well-maintained. There was a fire pit and wood provided, grassy space to park and set up a tent, and plenty of trees to hang hammocks from (we slept open air). The directions to find Brian’s place were easy to follow, and he was very responsive, communicative, and hospitable. I wish we could have stayed another night or longer into the day to enjoy the mowed paths through the woods and lovely lake. If we are traveling through the area again, we will definitely be back.
Slice of heaven
What a lovely place! The sites were neat and tidy with a pretty pond in between them. I heard whipporwills, quail, frogs and there were fish jumping in the pond.
That Brian is a nice guy! He left wood for the fire ring and made me feel very welcome. Can't wait for a chance to camp here again!
The ultimate place to relax
This is an amazing site and highly recommend booking this location. The property is well maintained, beautiful and serene. It’s so well maintained we walked around barefoot most of the time. We popped down for the weekend and were greeted by Brian when we got there. He made sure we had firewood and everything else we needed. He even checked on us the second night to bring down more firewood and tell us more about the property. If you forgot anything it’s easy to get to several places nearby to restock.
We spent the day on the dock fishing and enjoying the view. Fish are quite active throughout the day and specially at night. Paths are mowed so that you can walk through parts of the property and there is plenty of wildlife to see. Did not have any issues with usual wood pests and saw a ton of butterflies, which we later learned is that they are trying to attract them to the area. Plenty of shade so that you can still keep cool on a warm day. The view on a clear night is gorgeous. Plenty of stars and Can easily see the Milky Way.
It’s a must book location and we will be back multiple times this year since The property is so nice and host is great.
Spent the night at Brian’s place. His was my fifth and favorite sight. I was driving this time from Ohio to Texas. And gosh I wanted to live there. Beautiful land next to the lake. Rolling hills. Nice bits of hiking. Big wide open skies. Away from everything still had service though. Just a totally ideal place and Brian was a great host. Making sure the weather would be okay and letting me know if things got too dicey opening up his home to me (which wasn’t needed)
I know he is installing more amenities. I want to go back for longer.
A fantastic getaway
This is one of my new favorite places. The fishing was great. It is incredibly private and quiet. My brother in-law and I already booked our annual camping weekend as soon as I got back. Brian could not be more friendly and made sure everything was perfect for my stay. I can't wait to go back!
Brian was so mice and helpful and has a beautiful property. You'll have a sound of music moment when he takes you over the rolling, grassy hills back by the lake. I stayed one night and had the entire lake and woods to myself. He set my up with firewood and kindling and I had a nice fire. There are trails to wander around as well. I would definitely stay here again.
This was my second time here. My brother in-law and I went for a couple nights and could not have had a better time. It's beautiful and the fishing is great. As usual, Brian could not have been more friendly during our stay. We are going again in a few weeks to camp with his wife (my sister) and their 2 boys. We can't wait.
So relaxing and peaceful
Such a beautiful place to stay! Campsites are very spacious and just a few steps away from the lake which has great fishing and a very nice dock/pier with chairs and umbrella for relaxing. Their is also a nice walking trail through the woods as well. Brian takes pride in this place and it shows. Thank you sir for your hospitality. This will definitely be a place we return to soon!
Trees, private pond, & garlic!
This site was truly magical. Late night arrival but the host guided me to the site that was replete with enough wood for a week, a picnic bench, & a rock fire pit.
When i woke in the morning, i was absolutely awestruck by the cotton candy colored sunrise dancing off the 6 acre private pond. There was a paddle boat available, an exceptionally clean outhouse, a fishing dock, scenic rolling hills, & beautifully majestic trees that seemed to whisper in the wind.
Although located only about a mile from the road, it truly felt like i was earth's last human inhabitant. Until the host paid a quick visit to drop off some organic, rare garlic cloves he grows on the farm. We discussed it the night before. I was truly mesmerized by his knowledge of garlic which is far more complex than those little cloves you grab @ the grocery store. Also, the dude is super affable, extremely interesting, & will only chat w you if you're interested. He's not 1 of these hosts that's on Hipcamp because it's his only opportunity for social interaction.
Anyway, back to the site itself... The trees were simply beautiful. The trails were picturesque. The easy access but seemingly total seclusion was perfect.
I give this site a score of 15 out of 10.
