Experienced hunters! If you are looking for a place to call home this upcoming season, look no further. We have several stands available for use, or bring your own!
Please ensure you have the proper deer hunting permits with appropriate zone for the 2018 deer season (we will double-check them for you!). You will have to sign some waivers for insurance purposes, too. Your hunting party may harvest up to 4 deer from our property. If you have more than 4 permits, you will not be able to fill them while camping at our property.
You are paying for the privilege of harvesting deer from our land and some perks on top of that. We transform our barn into a hunting base which includes room for sleeping cots (you provide the bedding), cozy electric heat, fridge & freezer, and homemade chili in the crockpot. There's a spot to hang your deer for skinning (please gut your deer at the kill site), and we can also setup a spot for processing venison upon request. We can accommodate pretty much anything you want so long as you communicate with us in advance about it!
Enjoy an outdoor fire or grab a beer at the bar (about 5 minutes away) when you're not out in the stand.
There is currently no shower in the barn, however you will be able to use our shower between 6pm and 8pm.
You may come out in October to scout the land and pitch a tent for one night as part of this package (price included!). If you need more time, please let us know and we can work it out.
This package is for harvesting Whitetail Deer only for archery, rifle, and/or blackpowder seasons. No other animals may be hunted or trapped.
We have over 100 acres of wooded land with 4 large meadows, hiking trails and a creek flowing through. Our land connects to hundreds of acres of state land. We are near the world famous Sax-Zim Bog and have many species of wildlife to watch for! Deer, wolves, coyotes, black bear, bobcats, magpies, bald eagles and more have all been spotted (by us!) on or near our land.
Our barn and outhouse are available for campers to use. The barn is a gorgeous log barn from the late 1800s and is part of the original farmstead. Inside you will find a picnic table and maps of the property. There is running water available here, although it is not potable. The barn is very clean: it does not house animals and has not housed animals in over 30 years.
You will find several hiking trails that may also be used for snowshoeing in the winter. There are quite a few locations for camping, too: the meadows, along the creek, and out in the woods.
There is very little light pollution in our area, which means AURORA BOREALIS! There are several excellent locations to capture the Northern Lights and night sky.
Please be aware that we are close to the railroad tracks. The trees do break up the sound a lot, but you will still hear the trains going by. Trains typically do not run between midnight and 6 am, although it occasionally does happen during busy seasons.
