Trembling Gardens is my 10 acre swamp camp paradise in the rural suburb of Rice Lake. I am currently developing the land as a personal off-grid vacation home with a tent cabin under construction. I spend most summer weekends there. The camp is less than 20 minutes away from downtown Duluth and Canal Park.

The site is about a 600ft trail from the road where you'll park. The first 400ft of the trail is a swamp with a simple elevated boardwalk through most of it. There is still about 80ft of raw swamp with some pallets. Rubber boots might be needed.

The campsite is okay and is exactly as listed. However, we were not warned that the "hike" to the campsite consists of walking a quarter mile through mid-calf deep mud. So, bring some high boots if you decide to book. Also, be careful of bears...

The site is as described, including the boardwalk over the muddy sections. We got in an hour after dark and still didn't have trouble finding our way, so the directions Blake sends are definitely clear! Can't comment on most of the site since we came in late at night and left early the next morning. One thing to note is that we were coming in after a rain, and the trail to the site has tall grass growing next to it, so our pants got a pretty good soaking even though the ground wasn't muddy.

Campsite was good. Walking to the site was fine on the boardwalk. I didn't stay long enough to explore any trails that were nearby.
