Camp Palustria is on the edge of a beautiful marsh within 75 feet of a trout stream. It is about 1000ft off of the Superior Hiking Trail. Campsite includes fire pit with grill, table, and composting outhouse. I might provide a couple logs for you, but be ready to bring your own wood.
Trembling Gardens is my five acre swamp camp paradise in the rural suburb of Rice Lake. I am currently developing the land as a personal off-grid summer home camp. My personal camp is also on the property, The camp is less than 20 minutes away from downtown Duluth and Canal Park.
The camp is about a 600ft trail from the road where you'll park. The first 400ft of the trail is very swampy especially if it has rained recently. Knee-high rubber boots will more than likely be required.NEW in 2018 There is now a boardwalk through the first quarter of the swamp trail. Now it is 10 acres for more privacy and wetlands to explore

The campsite is okay and is exactly as listed. However, we were not warned that the "hike" to the campsite consists of walking a quarter mile through mid-calf deep mud. So, bring some high boots if you decide to book. Also, be careful of bears...
The site is as described, including the boardwalk over the muddy sections. We got in an hour after dark and still didn't have trouble finding our way, so the directions Blake sends are definitely clear! Can't comment on most of the site since we came in late at night and left early the next morning. One thing to note is that we were coming in after a rain, and the trail to the site has tall grass growing next to it, so our pants got a pretty good soaking even though the ground wasn't muddy.
