Beautiful campsite. I was there midweek and it was quiet and peaceful. Carl came down to greet me, and I felt welcomed. The river was running low, but it was great to camp right next to it and listen to the babbling all night. I certainly want to go back and explore more!
Loved staying here! Was very quiet and perfect for us! One thing I would suggest is just numbering the sites so we know which is which. I think we stayed in 8. It was so great! Thank you! We will be back

Carl was the best host I've ever had! He not only cut us fresh firewood from his forest FOR FREE, he even invited us over for a bottle of his delicious home made wild plum wine! I felt more like family than a guest.
We had the whole campground to ourselves, probably at least an acre, with several campsites along the river and a few in fields. The changing foliage was beautiful, and we fell asleep to the sounds of the river and cicadas, a clear view of all the stars above us.
Our time camping here was perfect, and I can't wait to see Carl's future successes as he continues to build his vineyard and winery!

Beautiful area! We had a site right by the river, the babbling of the water was so peaceful. Carl and his wife were very welcoming and hospitable. We will definitely stay again!

It was lovely. The river is beautiful. At one of the sites, the previous campers had left a mess, which was disheartening. I had my pick of sites, and just loved mine.
A visitor stopped by and told me the camp was going to be developed to include a gold panning camp and an RV park. That broke my heart because I liked it just the way it is, but I respect the dreams for the future. I found it to be enchanting and easy to enjoy. Thank you!

This is such a wonderful spot to camp! We were parked in our camper van right next to the Groundhouse River, steps away. We could hear the river! Carl welcomed us when we arrived and then came by later with an offering of homemade plum wine. We would stay here again and reccomend this to anyone traveling in the area.

Carl’s land was a fantastic visit! He was very pleasant and welcoming. He provided wine for us to try and gave recommendations on what camp site he favored. His site was a great getaway from the city and would definitely come back.
The campsite was beautiful and remote. We never saw our host but we didn't have any questions so it was okay. Great spot for star gazing on a clear night. There was some traffic noise at night from the near by interstate. We also woke up to hunters shooting in the neighboring state land.
