Experience the warmth of a crackling camp fire under the evening stars, while enjoying a variety of outdoor activities during the day! We have three secluded camps on some of the most beautiful country in our county. We have the west branch of Lac Qui Parle River snaking through this acreage (where you can catch an occasional brown trout), there's light-medium hill climbing, about 1/3 of it is forest. The rest is field and the views are breathtaking!Don't be surprised to see some deer at dawn and dusk, or hear the owls at night (or the neighbor's cows) We also have a group of wild turkeys that have hung around there for years that are super fun to watch.

Just two miles away on the gravel road, you can drive or bike to Gary, play at the park, hit up the Alibi for ice cream, catch a local softball game, grab a some groceries at the general store or see our local JEWEL; Buffalo Ridge. This is a hotel and upscale restaurant that has a great food and drinks. Don't forget to eat out on the patio to watch a volleyball game or live music. This used to be the South Dakota School for the Blind and it is chock full of cool history. There's also the Lutheran, Catholic and Methodist churches here.Learn all about this charming little town here: experiencegarysd.com

When you get back to the campsite, you can dig through some fun games that we provide, sit around a campfire, read a book or do whatever your heart desires. It's your time, make it special. Also, we live on the farm on the other side of the section, so if you'd like to see our operation, please let us know. We have beef cattle, sheep, an occasional pig or three, chickens and some hilarious dairy goats that are the neighborhood "cool kids". Visitors love to come at milking time or find chicken eggs. We also have a sustainable produce business and you are welcome to "pick your supper" out of our big gardens each evening.
