Wonderfully down to earth hosts and a magical little secluded grove, I was blessed with the sight of several acres
of fireflies and the distant sound of coyotes during my stay. The nearby parks in Taylor’s Falls are also spectacular with the basalt cliffs and glacial potholes. Definitely recommend this spot.
Danielle was very prompt and courteous with communication, very friendly and gave us a tour of available options once we arrived at the farm. She even provided carts to help haul our gear to our camp site. The sites were very secluded. Her mowed trails made it very easy to travel throughout. Check-in and out of camp was super easy. Her fields also hold a light show of fire flies after dusk!
Comfy space, kind hosts!
Dan and Danielle were wonderful hosts! So nice and accommodating. It felt like meeting old friends! Yurt was super spacious and clean and comfortable and the whole camp site was set up so cute with fire pit and chairs and picnic table. The composting toilet was clean and easy to use. They had wheelbarrows easy to push that allowed us to take all our stuff out the yurt easily! The only drawback was all the mosquitoes so definitely bring your bug spray and long pants for the walk. It is a decent walk out (7-10 mins) so just know that coming in... but plenty of gorgeous fireflies to light the way:)
Wonderful, secluded campsite
Our stay was great. We were at the far site, which is quite far back and very secluded. The tent and campsite is inside a small grove of trees and surrounded by a beautiful field of wildflowers. Being out there and hearing the cranes during the day and the coyotes at night was a fantastic experience, especially for our 3-year old daughter.. I would recommend car campers to try to limit their gear to only the essentials, because the provided carts are a little bit on the smaller side, and you may end up making a lot of extra trips to get settled in. Even still, it was a great time for us, and we look forward to visiting again in the future.
Lovely working farm
Our family enjoyed our time at Stone Creek Farm. The campsite was secluded and well-situated. The stars were on full display one of our evenings and we saw/heard loads of wildlife.
Like mentioned in details and other reviews, there is a little bit of a hike out to the farther site, but our kids (age 4 and 7) did just fine. If you are traveling with little people make sure you have a spare set of shoes in your car for them -- the morning dew will get their (and your) feet good and wet.
We had a brief and lovely stay at Shady Creek. It was a wonderful place to be with our new pupster! Lovely mowed paths that served as runways for our kids and puppy to race around, comfortable and clean yurt-like tent and pit toilet. Dan was so warm and hospitable. Also a great location from Interstate (MN and WI) and the sweet small town of Taylors Falls. We’d definitely consider a return trip!
