Awesome place and great hosts! The sounds of the outdoors with the presence of farm animals is an added bonus. It’s hard to describe but the photos and other reviews are very accurate.

Best hospitality a person could hope for! They went above and beyond making sure that my wife and I had the best time! From starting our fire for us before we got to our campsite, to spending time giving a tour of the farm and all their animals. Plus the area is absolutely beautiful!

It was awesome camping place I have ever been. Patty & Michelle are so hospitality and their property has lots of fun and things to explore. There are so many pets you may never had such as donkeys, goats, cows, turkeys etc. If you are looking for a place to escape from city, there it is!!!

The cave is waiting for you to explore.Heart's ContentPeace and Private.Heart's Content

This was our first time using Hipcamp and we booked at Shady Rest the night before our reservation. We are so glad we did!! It was exactly what we needed. Great hospitality from Michelle and Patty and a beautiful property. If you are a lover of animals and want to get out of the cities this is the spot for you. The campsite was exactly what it looks like in the photos. A great way to reconnect with nature, even if only for one night. Would definitely come back again! Thank you Patty and Michelle, we will definitely cherish this memory for the rest of our lives.

This place is amazing! The host, the views, the animals all great! Stayed under the walnut trees and watched horses graze, a some goats snuck in too! Some deer came to the horse pasture to visit. Got a couple visits from the hosts pets and got to play ball with a couple of the dogs. The trout in the pond are huge! Took the canoe into the cave, got out and walked in the cave to see its its amazingness! If you're looking for a get away from the city and experience some country Heart's Content is the place! I know I will be returning!

Patty and Michelle were fantastic hosts! This was our first experience with hipcamp and based on our experience with them we would definitely do this again. Their farm is fantastic, with the sites spread out far enough that you get privacy, but can also interact with others as you'd like.
The two of them were great with our young son and let him help feed the animals, lent us a life jacket and use of their canoe and overall ensured we had a great time.
The site itself was exactly as pictured and described. Quiet, surrounded by trees and across from a pasture of horses that we got to say good morning to each day.
We ran into the potential of some bad storms and it made me feel safe knowing that they told us they'd come warn us if the weather got severe, but also told us if we ever felt the weather was unsafe we could use their house as shelter.
If we have the opportunity we'd definitely stay here again

Amazing camping spot at Heart’s Content despite the stormy weather. Patty & Michelle offered their garage space for shelter which was comforting. Beautiful evening after the storm, exploring the cave in the trout pond and then a tour around the pasture to feed all the animals Sun morning. Will definitely come back to explore more around the area.

My daughter & I loved our camping experience at Shady Rest Acres. Michelle & Patty and all if there pets are such kind, gracious hosts! It such a beautiful property with very private, roomy camp sites. If you love animals, this is perfect place to visit. The dogs & cats stop by often to say “ hello”. Their are horses, chickens, turkeys, cows, goats, donkeys & ducks. We enjoyed the canoe, walking around looking at the gorgeous scenery & chilling by the campfire. We hope to make another trip there in the fall, to see the gorgeous fall colors. I highly recommend Shady Rest Acres, it was a perfect get away from the hustle & bustle of city life.
