We loved the private seclusion of this campsite. It was very rustic, and we loved the privacy this beautiful place gave us. The tent platform is perfect for setting up a nice level campsite, and the view it overlooked is breathtaking! there are signs up pointing out where things are located which was very helpful. It was so fun to explore the woods and look at all the diverse plants and trees. The nearby turnoff road was a perfect parking place for our van for the evening
Gorgeous campsite- the views were stunning, and the campsite was nice and secluded away from the road. Very peaceful, and we'll happily go back again!
One note about finding the campsite- the side road that you can park on is actually on the OPPOSITE side of the main road from the trailhead leading to the campground. Took us a bit to figure that out, since there are also a couple trailheads that appear to lead away from the parking area at the bottom of the hill. So, if you park at the bottom of the hill, walk back up to the main road and then across it and west about 100 feet and you'll see the sign leading back into the trees!
The view was absolutely stunning and beautiful!! It was better than i imagined it would be! This was my own fault, but the platform seems too small and should be a bit bigger to fit a larger tent, as my 9ft wide tent, the poles overhung the platform but still worked fine. A very small "problem" was the walkways have many small tree trunks or wood sticking out of the ground, just enough to trip and take a tumble! The host Eli. Was amazing and answered my questions fast and direct! I have already recommended the site to multiple people!
Great view of the sunrise and lake
A beautiful sunrise, a lovely platform, and good directions! We appreciated the wealth of information our host made available to us, and everything was just as expected! Very isolated and private, which was nice. Highly recommended!
This campsite was a great first Hipcamp experience! We had a fun time and loved the view from the platform. A small problem we ran into was a shortage of firewood at the site. We didn’t have anything with us to cut down our own and most of the wood on the ground was wet, so we had to take a short trip out in the morning to get some. Not a huge problem, just be prepared in case there is not a stack of wood ready for you! The campsite is pretty secluded, but you can hear cars on the roads nearby every now and then. Overall, we had a wonderful time. Thank you Eli!
I really enjoyed staying here, if you want deep woods or somewhere extremely secluded this is it, however there are a pack of wolves we heard all day long very close by so beware, and tent pads 2-3 are completely not accessible because the trail is so over grown you can’t see where it goes, the firewood provided was also wet and not useable. I would recommend this because the area is so stunning and it’s so secluded, also if you’re going to bring a tent make sure to bring really cushiony bedding because if not sleeping on that wood plank will hurt! Over all decent spot.
