If you want absolute primitive camping at its best, this is it. Beautiful place, remote and peaceful. Met Ted on the way in, he have us directions to the area to camp. Found a great location to set up. Just make sure prepared for no facilities.
I am a solo minimal as possible camper. I packed in at the tail end of winter and tarp camped. Quiet secluded. A nice creek running through. Lots of trees. Host Ted was very quick on responding to any questions or concerns.

Beautiful piece of wooded property. We found a site right next a babbling stream that seemed too good to be true. Gorgeous place, highly highly recommend.
Perfect site - exactly what I was hoping to find for me and my two sons. Just a few feet away from a beautiful creek, babbling all night (better than a sound machine). Ample dry firewood everywhere. Easy access to a pretty waterfall along creek and trails for walking/hiking. Secluded, didn’t see a soul, except friendly host who brought us some good dry firewood. Great experience, wholeheartedly recommend. We’ll be back.

We loved this beautiful campsite! The campsite we chose was a short walk (1 min) from the access road and was along an idyllic babbling brook. There was a nice, flat spot for our 6'x6' tent, a stone-rimmed fire pit, and a picnic table was a great bonus. Great shade too with large trees on site. Water was accessible at the main house (5mins walk) from an old-fashioned pump.
While the site has convenient access to Nerstrand State Park, there is also a nice walking trail very near to the campsite to the neighboring Caron County Park with a nice waterfalls and split rock.
Ted was a friendly host and quickly answered our pre-departure questions. We loved this site and will definitely be back again this summer!

We especially enjoyed the river! It was clean and beautiful! The whole bottom was flat rock and was not slippery at all. Cute little falls. We sat under them. Ahh so refreshing! Beautiful trail leading to the river and a huge, very interesting rock on the way. Our site was nearly all shaded which was so nice in the 90 degree heat.
This is a great option for those looking for safe, private camping during Covid or any other time. I was a single woman (with a dog) and felt very at ease being the only camper during off days. I also accidentally booked two sites, and when the host (Ted's son) learned of this he simply refunded the additional booking. Great spot, good people.
Ted’s son, Stephan was very friendly and accommodating. He showed me to my site and told me about the near by hiking trails. The land is very private and beautiful! Can’t wait to go back😀

Fantastic spot! Directions were totally accurate, host was very friendly, helpful and accommodating. This spot is about an hour from the Twin Cities, but feels completely remote. Great privacy from other campers. Plenty of room.
We stayed at Site 1, which is right by the creek. We then walked right down the creek, which is gorgeous and very shallow, all the way to the waterfall, where we took our dogs swimming.
In the morning, we explored the town of Northfield, and grabbed an amazing breakfast at Ole Store Restaurant. Highly, highly recommended.
We're already planning a return visit to this camp.
