The vibe at Welcome to the Pioneer Farm
If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
Pioneer Farm is a wonderful gem of a place. Conveniently not too far from I-35, and with access to the lovely Fish Lake, this site is a perfect summer getaway from the twin cities or elsewhere. We spent our time wandering around the property, admiring the old agricultural buildings, enjoying hearing from our hosts about the many vegetables, herbs, and other plants they grow, and playing with their adorable and kind dogs (Zora and Bodi). In addition to the many things to enjoy on the property itself, it is also a 10 to 15 minute walk from a public landing and beach for Fish Lake. We had a wonderful time at this very welcoming site, and look forward to returning soon.
The Pioneer Farm is an INCREDIBLE place to stay. Just 45 minutes from the Twin Cities with access to the beautiful and refreshing Fish Lake, Nancy and Kalli's farm is the perfect place to pitch your tent or park your camper for the weekend. We spent our visit getting a tour of the property, playing with Zora and Bodhi (their sweet pups), learning about what's growing in the garden (chard! oregano! lettuce!), and splashing around to cool off in Fish Lake (just steps from your campsite). There are plenty of cleared sites to choose from, and even though we were very close to a road we felt as though we had the beautiful quiet property and lakefront to ourselves. Looking forward to returning to Pioneer Farm -- Nancy and Kalli are wonderful hosts and their property is the perfect weekend getaway.
Loved the location! We brought up jetskiis to the lake and we’re able to use the private dock which was just across the street. Very private and quiet site. The hosts were great. Very convenient location.
My 2 year old son and I really enjoyed our stay at the Pioneer Farm. Nancy and Kalli were gracious and easygoing hosts. The farm doesn't have any farm animals anymore, but the old buildings are super fun to explore. Plus, the location is a short walk to the beach and park (with a playground). I would definitely go again.
