We live 4 miles from Lake Vermilion State Park and 3 miles from a public beach on the same lake. An old railroad grade bisects our property and is a good hiking and mountain bike trail.

We camped up in the field which had a lovely view. There was not an established camp site and the grass was really tall. We were able to dive over the grass enough to trample it down and make a place for our tent and fire pit. The skies were clear the two night we were there, so we slept with our rain fly off to look at the stars. We had a clear view of the milky way as well! We also enjoyed the sauna. Note the the sigh was very rustic . The flush toilet was inside the house and you could not use it at night, but they did have a pit toilet as well, which was not bad. The host was friendly and helpful, Overall a good experience.
Lots of space to spread out in the pasture areas, although we chose to stay closer to the garage area in case we needed electrical. Our kids thought the piglets in the nearby pen were fun. Stay was contactless, as host Rebecca communicated easily via texts and was very kind. Would stay here again.
Incredible host, great location, very accommodating. Contact-free checkin was lovely, we were given tons of space and privacy, had access to a grill on request, and we were surrounded by cute animals. 5 minute drive from swimming spots, 10 minute drive from a good grocery / gas spot open til midnight. Would not hesitate to camp here again.

It was a very nice peaceful quiet setting. Not everyone would probably enjoy the dogs but we didn't mind them since we have dogs have our own and they played together well. Other than that nice location had everything we needed.
