We have both a river and a creek that run through our land, a cedar swamp, giant white and Norway pine, a beaver dam, 2 miles of cross country running trails, a traditional Ojibwe longhouse, two meadows, a spring fed pond and miles of public trails bordering our property. We live 4 miles from Lake Vermilion State Park and 3 miles from a public beach on the same lake. An old railroad grade bisects our property and is a good hiking and mountain bike trail.

We camped up in the field which had a lovely view. There was not an established camp site and the grass was really tall. We were able to dive over the grass enough to trample it down and make a place for our tent and fire pit. The skies were clear the two night we were there, so we slept with our rain fly off to look at the stars. We had a clear view of the milky way as well! We also enjoyed the sauna. Note the the sigh was very rustic . The flush toilet was inside the house and you could not use it at night, but they did have a pit toilet as well, which was not bad. The host was friendly and helpful, Overall a good experience.
