Named jewel of Waseca county, our stunningly scenic 40 acres property overlooks lake and river valley where no houses/farms can be seen from most of our property. Very diverse topography from rolling hills, majestic pine and oak forest to wetlands and is full of prairie grasses, flowers and wildlife. Whitetail live on the property along with countless variety of song and game birds. Audubon picture perfect with very private accommodations. Historically the land was once owned by Ulysses S. Grant and purchased from former MN Speaker of the House Rodney Searle who had congressional gatherings back in the 1970's. We offer kayaking, canoeing, and hiking on a pond at our MN Grown organic aronia berry family farm. Owners are full-time educators and at a later date are planning on starting to provide outdoor classes from homesteading to baking and woodcraft instruction. Our 27' Forest River Camper that sleeps 8 is available should you chose not to bring your own camper and is listed as a separate listing. When booking with us, please respect quiet and privacy levels that are desired by those who book with us. Although there is plenty of space between the campsites, noise and music levels should be kept reasonable so not to disturb the other campers and respect their privacy.

The property is very beautiful and peaceful, with hiking trails and a pond. Dan is very thoughtful and took great care to make sure we got settled. We enjoyed seeing a Bald Eagle, stargazing and walking the trails. In warmer weather, we would have been able to use Dan's canoe on the pond. Next time!

This is a German farm. The owners are refurbishing the barn into a folk school. The host offered suggestions for relaxation including hiking, kayaking and biking. He even brought down a couple of bikes for us.
We left the gifted us with a little walnut syrup and Aronia berries.
What a gem of a place in central MN heartland. We’ll be back!

Daniel was such a pleasant and accommodating host. We were well taken care of from the minute we arrived to the minute we departed. Bikes, canoe, kayaks, and more were provided to be sure we had the best experience exploring the beautiful trails, ponds, and lakes that surround the campsite. We could not have asked for a better host or accommodations for our weekend getaway.

Thank you so much Dan and family for a wonderful stay!
Dan greeted us on arrival and gave us the lay of the land. He guided us to our campsite and even helped us hook up to power which was an exciting bonus! The property is beautiful and peaceful. Exactly the break we were looking for when driving across the country. There were five campsite options. We chose number 3 and loved it!
Dan let us know about the aronia berries they grow and walnut syrup that they make and we were super excited when he brought us some of each to try. He even brought us vanilla ice cream to enjoy with the syrup! The best hospitality we could have asked for! Just wish we could have stayed longer.

Daniel was a delightful host. He was incredibly committed to ensuring we had everything we needed, he is passionate about the property and the history of it. The land is beautiful. We had a nice spot right on a small lake with a wonderful view of the sunset. There was a canoe and a kayak for our use and a set of mountain bikes if we wanted as well. Our trip got cut short due to some rain but we would absolutely return.
We are so grateful to have stayed here! Moving across the country during a pandemic is pretty stressful but Daniel and his wife were incredibly hospitable and went above and beyond to make sure we had a comfortable stay. They were very thoughtful in making sure that we could successfully park a truck and trailer and even had us stay in their camper because we arrived pretty late and it was about to storm. This is a beautiful property and our one regret was not staying longer!
In a time where all the news seems bad its refreshing to find a place like this to get away and remember whats truly important. Beautiful setting and the, Daniel the host, made it 5 stars all the way.
Wonderful hosts and fun place to camp with extras like canoe and kayak available to cruise around small lake right next to the site. My kids enjoyed meeting their horse and appreciated the abundant wildlife as well! Thank you!
