Description

Greer Lake’s Campground is next to the public landing, so you can drive up to your campsite, set up camp, and then get that boat of yours into the water for some excellent fishing right away. There’s even a fish cleaning house on-site. You don’t have to stick to the water to have fun in Minnesota’s Crow Wing State Forest, though. The white pines are massive, the conifer bogs and wet prairies are fascinating ecosystems, and this campground will even put you near the Bass Lake Interpretive Trail, where you can learn more about the area.

This is a primitive campground. There are 4 vault toilets between the 31 sites. One is handicapped accessible. The beach area is very small and a small dock as well. The boats are usually anchored along the shoreline. The fish cleaning house appears to be partly destroyed. There is a lot of shade but not a lot of privacy between sites. There are tree piles around from last summers storms. Wood is free to take, great if you brought a saw along. Bring effective bug repellent. Possible bears also. Two vehicles/camping units and six people limit. Dogs on a 6’ leash. Currently $17 per night. About 10 miles to Crosslake or Emily, 20 miles to Crosby/Ironton. Less than 25 cabins/houses around this lake. Sites usually always available.
