Description

South Pike Bay Campground is another fabulous option when it comes to finding waterlogged adventure on Cass Lake. The mixed hardwood forest provides ample shade and ambiance, but the real gems of this spot are the campsites right on the heavenly, sandy beach. It’s the sort of place that just begs for you to sit back, relax, and enjoy the finer things in life. Like a perfectly roasted s’more, or your buddy’s latest acoustic rendition of “Wonderwall” (for the 768th time, more or less.) If you absolutely need to get away from your getaway, a trailhead for the Migizi Bike Trail is right on site. The campground is also a portage point for the difficult Chippewa Headwaters Loop Canoe Route, a grueling yet beautiful 128-mile trip along the historic waterway. So if the guitar playing gets really great, at least you have an escape plan.
