This cabin was built by hand in the 1970s from white pine that was harvested and milled on-site. Our family purchased and rehabbed this beautiful cabin throughout 2021. Indoor and out, there are so many ways to relax and connect with loved ones during all seasons at Bundo's Cabin. Learn more about this land: Where the forest meets the field. Unplug and relax at Bundo's Cabin with extraordinary views of wildlife and endless outdoor opportunities. The modern yet cozy cabin has electricity and features a front patio, an external bathroom, a fully equipped kitchen, a dining area, a living area, and a sleeping loft with a reading nook. No matter the season, this cabin is a wonderful, cozy, and clean, place to relax and unwind. Feel free to roam around the 10-acre property and explore the 80 acres of state land to the north. Deer, foxes, coyotes, turkeys, owls, eagles and more are likely to be seen or heard. Explore, Banning, Moose Lake, and Father Hennepin State Parks which are all within 30 minutes, and return to the cabin to read, play games, listen to records, have a fire, and relax. The kitchen provides you with everything you need to prepare your meals including a refrigerator, small freezer, stove, oven, cookware, cutting boards, sink, seasonings, oil, and coffee. Water for washing is available via a pump faucet in the kitchen, and a brand-new outhouse is located steps south of the cabin. The cabin is efficiently heated and cooled with a very user-friendly heat pump and gets the cabin to your desired temperature very quickly. We are grateful to honor the Dakota and Anishinaabe people whose land we occupy by donating $10 from every booking to the Makoce Ikikcupi Land Recovery Project. This project is actively working to return the land to the indigenous people from whom it was stolen. Beautiful cabin
The house is beautiful and perfect. We marveled at the craftsmanship it took to build and appreciated the beautiful choice of furnishings. It slept two adults, two kids and a dog comfortably. Cooked every meal in the kitchen, enjoyed drinking pour-over coffee, playing games and listening to records. We hiked around the property and the state land, and went to banning state park. Also stopped at Tobie’s bakery on the way back to the Twin Cities for some amazing donuts. The kids enjoyed s’mores by the fire pit.

Bundo's Cabin in the Woods
This place is magic
Proximity to a few state parks, lots of privacy, adorable touches everywhere (the record collection is so fun), a cozy spot to sleep, the cutest outhouse that probably exists, and a sky full of stars. Definitely recommend!

Bundo's Cabin in the Woods
Bundo’s cabin offered a lovely getaway in the woods. An easy trip from the Twin Cities allowed my husband and I to enjoy a nice weekend away. The cabin has wonderful amenities (full kitchen, record player, big beautiful windows, a yoga mat, etc) and was perfectly cozy. We look forward to staying again and would recommend it to anyone!

Bundo's Cabin in the Woods
Beautiful and Private
Jon's cabin is gorgeous. All of the amenities you could need and want while "camping". Many thoughtful touches, such as the record player, books, kitchen equipment, firewood (donations accepted), marshmallow roasting sticks, oil diffuser, games, and more. We cooked a whole Thanksgiving meal in this kitchen with room and utensils to spare. The bed and couch are comfortable, and the cabin stayed a cozy 60+ degrees with the electric heater while it was a frigid 10 degrees outside. The fire pit was a welcome activity in the cold weather, as was walking around the maintained trails on the property. The night sky was beautiful and entirely visible in the open yard on a clear evening. We will most certainly be back.

Bundo's Cabin in the Woods
Cozy weekend!
We really enjoyed our stay! The cabin is clean, cozy, and has everything you need for a weekend away. We really enjoyed listening to old records and walking our pup around the property. For future visitors: The ladder to the loft is quite steep and could be challenging for those with limited mobility.
