We had an absolutely wonderful time at Allen's campsite! He and his wife are so kind and really show you what Midwestern hospitality is all about! It seems like they've thought of everything and truly care that you have an amazing experience.
Their land is gorgeous - many steep trails that our pup loved exploring. The view between the campsites is one of the best I've ever had so close to a site.
We paid for one ride up to the campsite when we got there and it had plenty of room for a carload of our gear! We stayed at site 1 and paid for wood for 3 nights. The wood was already at the campsite and there was plenty of it to cook all of our meals with. The site is very peaceful and secluded. I can't say enough good things about it! We will definitely be back soon!

Al was such a pleasant host. Drove me up to my campsite in his ATV telling me about the history and land. Very helpful and informative. In the morning I made the 20 minute hike down. The campsite was over looking the Minnesota River which was very private and peaceful. Highly recommend!

Al was a great host. All us girls had a great time. I don’t think it’s a place I would bring kids due to the hike up to site. We will be back again
Allen was an excellent host. The space was remarkably private and well maintained. Much better than I had expected. Gorgeous view
Great people! Wonderful place and with great views!!! They were very personable and I enjoyed talking with them. Allen and his wife have a very beautiful and well kept farm in this valley of paradise. It's close to town with easy access to other towns and locations. I was hoping for more of a view at the campsite, but the fire ring and fire circle made the experience so cozy I did not mind. We heard a loud train at night and you could hear cars below on the road if you looked over the bluff and listened for it. I would stay again for sure!!! I wish we had more time to explore and hike their well maintained trails.
my boyfriend and i wanted a weekend get away with a beautiful view and room to adventure with our dog, Al gave us just that. not only was the campsite hidden very spacious, but there was also a BEAUTIFUL view of the mississippi river from high up. and it was BREATHE TAKING! we will definitely be back to camp here very soon. i live 4 hours from this campsite and i WILL be coming again with more family and friends!! thanks again Al!! you were so kind and very helpful when looking for bait shops, fishing spots, and more!!
one of the most picturesque sites you may ever find. plenty of firewood. Primitive, but that's the way I like it. Al was extremely personable. expect to get a ride to it, however. it'd be a tough walk from the car parking, but well worth it.
The view at the top of the bluffs looking over Ol' Miss is 10/10. Allen was really welcoming. If available, I recommend hitching a ranger ride to the camp site. If not, prepare for a steep 20 minute climb through the forested bluffs. Allen can provide plenty of great firewood up there too. A ranger ride up, back down, and firewood cost an extra $25 and was well worth it.
It was great! Al and Cheryl were super nice. We had tons of gear because we were car camping with a 4 year old so we couldn’t go up onto the bluffs to camp, but Al set us up with a sweet little site by the field close to a cool kids clubhouse that our daughter loved. I hiked up to the bluffs and the view is absolutely spectacular. Camp here!
